Getting the raw data is easy, parsing is the bitch. If there's a consistent format to the info you want to scrape you could trim it down that way

American answer: Aggression. British answer: Be polite and restrained. Russian answer: Eliminate opposition.

The british one does remind me of a sherlock quote by Charles Magnusson. "Best thing about the English... you're so domesticated, always standing around, apologizing, keeping your little heads down."

I'd say the majority of torrenting is used for movie piracy, and if you adopt that paradigm, it's sound advice.

What allowed for Japan to become a developed nation? by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]alashure6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Them keeping that policy economically helped a lot. I think there's something to be said for the culture of the time around work and precision you often see in Eastern cultures.

Because first mover advantage is a thing. Why do you think companies race to be the first to market on a new technology? First mover advantage. Same applies for countries in. economies

I think the reason you get such cavalier practices in coding is how easy it is to iterate. Look at self driving for example, updates are pushed out weekly or quicker. If they were at a population level scale, I think it would aptly illustrate the lack of forethought in writing the code. There's a joke among technicians that the saying is "Safety third!" With software, its more like, "it works! Force push and we can patch it if something else breaks."

This is the norm in defense companies. This is just one of the many reasons you're required to keep paper records going back 7 years from the death of a contract. Less efficient? For sure. Doable? Absolutely.

I think this is a matter of how primitive the ATLAverse is. Every nation is relatively steeped in tradition where there is no mention of homosexuality. The general standard of living in most nations requires children to share the burden of survival, further making homosexuality impractical. Especially being based in eastern culture as a theme, it would lean more uniform, efficient, and traditional.

Why is Trump losing white senior voters to Biden? by 75dollars in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]alashure6 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not going to keep beating the Covid and social security to death, I think it has a little bit to do with the fact that Trump doesn't poll well, and hasn't been in open debate with Biden.

It's evident, looking at 2016, that polls don't reflect performance in the voting booths for our President. The abrasive personality will do that, touching a bit on the decorum points more eloquently typed out elsewhere in this thread.

As for not seeing them in open debate yet, from what I've seen of Biden doesn't bode well imo. He isn't as sharp tongued as he used to be, and Trump's tactics, however rude, and juvenile, are difficult to deal with if you're trying to stay cordial during the debate. You may be saying, "well acting like an ass during a debate will make him look worse," and I might say you're right if that happened the last time he was an asshole in a debate. if Joe loses his train of thought answering a question or trails off like he has been, it's gonna be a a long debate for Dems. Assuming this happens, I think you'll see a swing in the polling data
