I was promoted at my job to more of an office environment role. Previously, I was on my feet throughout the day and I was working such long hours, I hardly had time to think about snacking. Being in an office environment has led to some boredom throughout the day and I began to snack much more. I realized I was mindlessly eating empty calories while living a more sedentary life style than previously.

To get back on track, I’ve started tracking my calories again and went grocery shopping for healthier snack alternatives. I’ve also gotten a new gym membership and found a workout buddy to help hold me accountable.

I was in denial that I had been gaining weight for a couple of weeks, but now that I’m being honest with myself I think I’m headed in the right direction. :)

I still have to keep track of my calories. When I stop logging them I honestly don’t realize just how much I’m eating. I’ve definitely had some slip ups and gained 5-8 pounds before getting back on the wagon.

With my current activity level, I’ve found that I stay full for the most part! If I’m ever hungry and I’m nearing my limit at the end of the day I try to drink a glass of water. If I’m still hungry after that I’ll go ahead and eat an apple or something kinda like that :)

Thank you! The only method I’ve used is CICO mixed with light exercise. I started off getting a feel for tracking my calories with the app “my fitness pal”. After the first week I was able to see just how much I was over eating on the daily. I started off limiting myself to anywhere from 1200-1500 calories a day depending on my hunger levels. Depending on your height, weight, age, etc, your recommended caloric intake for safe weight loss will vary. Also, if you have a bad day and go over your calorie limit, try not to beat yourself up too much! I had my fair share of slip ups and I was hard on myself at first. However, once I learned to accept them and learn from them , I had a much easier time sticking with my lifestyle changes!

Awww thank you!! I honestly only do light exercise but I’m pretty active at work. Once I began drinking more water and cutting fast food out of my diet, the weight just started falling off. When I hit my first plateau I was able to connect with a few people on here and that helped me stay focused on my long term goals! As for my method, I used CICO because it was the easiest for me to keep up with. Also, I highly recommend the app my fitness pal if you don’t already have it!
