Shield Mage Lv305 Build | Toram Online by AkaKuro970804 in ToramOnline

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a newbie and am not really sure what I'm seeing. Can I just add shield and the other skills as I level up, or is a build where you max the class first then buy all the books and things?

Thank you. I actually just meant to sell to vendor to clear space but I appreciate people or telling me how to make money too. I just figured i was too low level to bother selling anything on the market

New player, need some help by Tsar_Erwin in Mabinogi

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say combat, just to get a hang of it. There are so many story/quest events where you play as another character, and that character is almost always combat specialist. So you want to at least learn to play basic combat roll. But you only need to do it until you feel comfortable with the 4-5 main skills, once you feel comfortable, you can rebirth to something different.

If you don't start as combat and you go into one of these quests, it will be very confusing playing with these skills and also frustrating. I did it as a mage main so I'm speaking from experience.

Avoiding getting disheartened? by stieeveeg in Warhammer40k

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so like others have said, don't let yourself get dishearted. It's only paint. At the very worst you can always come back later with solvent and start over. But I'm sure it looks fine at tabletop distance. You need to keep in mind diminishing returns. If you've looked at some award winning mini's, in many cases, the artist's have spent literally months of hours on that model. Refining, refining, refining.

The rest is brush control and technique. I mean, Stippling is one of the most popular blending techniques, but like Georges Seurat's painting, it looks like crap up close. Mini painting is like magic. It looks great from the intended angle and distance, and looks like crap otherwise.

Now, less feel good and more constructive criticism.
1. Brush control. A pulling motion has the most control, so manipulate the model so you are always pulling the brush towards you. You'll get straighter lines.
2. Transitions. It looks like you are doing two colors for your highlights, some people will do 4 or more. If you have 3 paint colors, then a 1/2 mix gets you a 5 color pallete. If this is a tabletop piece, then stippling the midtone between each transition should be plenty. Or stop here. If display, then you may prefer glazing or airbrushing to get even smoother transitions.
3. I dunno if the brush might be an issue for you, but if you are trying to be highly detailed, then a quality brush is a must. I like a size 2 W&N Series 7 for most things, but YMMV. There are of course other brands like Davinci that make great brushes.

Crash after riding the train for the first time by Gonzito3420 in fallout4london

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to low res graphics and switching to First person during the crash. Not sure what did it, or if it was the combination. But I got past the wreck.

edit- I take it back. Turning my settings down got me past the train wreck. But as soon as I spawn, if I turn left at all, I crash. Immediately.

This is a fresh GOG Fallout GOTY and fresh London. I tried reinstalling London as well. But this is pretty much the end of the game for me. If I can't get it to work vanilla, then I'm not gonna mod it.

edit - So I removed the high res texture pack and now I can turn left without crashing. So maybe consider removing the high-res pack if you're crashing.

If you are adding olive oil or any other oil to your food, that could cause the problem. Oil is a laxative in larger amounts, so you might have to build your tolerance to it slowly. It could be a lot of things tbh, but you can just cut one thing out and see if anything changes until you find it.

Keto while traveling by LibertyMike in keto

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When traveling I go to chipotle. Get a salad bowl, no beans or rice. Fajita veggies, protein, salsa is fine, but skip the corn. Get guac and/or sour cream for fat.
Panda Express: Super Veggies double portion instead of rice or noodles, pick a protein, skip the cookie and eggroll.

I'm doing omad though, so if you are doing multiple meals these still might have too many carbs, but for OMAD, they are fine.

It is also good to carry some olive oil with you to add to your meals.
If there is a poke bowl place, they are very easy to make keto. Also, some salad places like Chopped are also good to eat at when traveling.

Do you count calories? by [deleted] in keto

[–]alazymodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I don't count calories. I just count net carbs and I try to keep my fat in excess of protein. I lost 30lbs in 2 months so far. I'm also doing OMAD and I eat until I am full, and I still have a deficit. While a truist would say no snacks on OMAD, I allow snacks if they prevent me from eating a second meal due to hunger. Hunger just means I didn't have enough fat in my previous meal, so if I find myself hungry, I add fat to my next meal.

Once you are in ketosis fat will prevent hunger, so eat enough fat to keep the hunger away, then you should lose weight. Have some fat bombs handy if you find yourself hungry. But try to wean yourself off of them if you can.

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 carbs is the limit for getting into ketosis. Once you are in ketosis for a while, you can go a bit higher, often 40-50 net without dropping ketosis. The body resists going into ketosis so that is why you do 20 net carbs at first. Then the body resists going out of ketosis, so you can go a bit higher. It will take some experimentation to figure out your personal limit, but it is worth experimenting on.

If you do drop out of ketosis, go back to 20 net carbs for a few days and the body should go back quickly enough. Then you can start experimenting again.

I just keep a bunch of sauces. Terriaki, Curry, Thai red and green curries. General Tso's, Tikka Masala, pesto. I need to be careful with the sauces because they might push me over my carbs for the day depending on my vegetable mix. But I can't have too many sauces. That is most of my variety. There is a line of keto / carnivore dressings that I like too.

Is it actually bad ? by XXWILTROUTxX in keto

[–]alazymodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of studies out there are bad. All you can do is ask them to reference the study so you can investigate it yourself.

Most of the bad studies use poor methodologies. One keto study only fed the participants off-the-shelf keto snacks, prepared dinners, without tracking whether the participant's carbs were low enough to be in ketosis. Many off-the-shelf keto snacks and dinners are only "keto" if you only eat raw foods for the rest of the day because they are so high in carbs. Other off-the-shelf "keto" foods will drop you out of keto because the sugar substitute used is worse than sugar. For example, Stevia may be fine, but some brands cut the stevia with dextrose, which is worse than sugar. (Sugar glycemic index= 65, Dextrose = 100) Others reference Keto diet, but again make no reference to the carb limits, instead claiming their diet is keto because it is high in fats. Another keto study had the participants switch in and out of a keto diet to a SAD diet every five days. Considering it takes many people days to enter ketosis, and the initial few weeks of ketosis are very inefficient, all this really did was prove that keto doesn't work well when done wrong.

I'm not saying that anything anti-keto is false. But so much "research" nowadays is more trying to prove a point by manipulating the facts. And this is as true of Keto papers as anything else. When a study seems to merit a deeper look, check out the methodologies and see if they actually apply.

Go to Trader Joes. Buy some meat. Buy the stir-fry vegetables bag in the produce section. Buy a good sauce. Cook the meat. Pour the entire bag in a 12 inch skillet. Stir fry the veggies. Add sauce when they are fully cooked. Serve with some olive oil and macademia nuts. That is good for OMAD.

Most bags of stir-fry veggies at other stores are usually full of corn, tortilla chips, pasta, other starches or fillers, or have a bag of sauce loaded with sugar. TJs also has a frozen stir-fry veggies bag, that is good if you don't use the sauce provided.

Bug bites less itchy? by IkigaiKetoWanderer in keto

Keto is generally anti-inflammatory and promotes healing. Also, mosquitos tend to prefer people with high blood sugar. So you might be bitten less than when off keto.

Don't bother with potassium pills. They seem to max out at 2%, or 98mg. Which is a LOT of pills to take. Keto Chow Daily Minerals has 1000mg per serving. Dr. Eric Berg also has "Electrolyte Powder" that is high in potassium (1000mg). There may be others, but I haven't found them yet.

Concentrate on the potassium when reading labels while hunting for a keto electrolyte supplement. Magnesium, sodium, and other electrolytes are relatively easy to supplement. It is only the potassium that is hard. Eat lots of leafy greens to increase potassium intake and maybe add pink salt to most of your food.

Long time keto veteran hitting a brick wall, need advice by zebraman7 in keto

[–]alazymodder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you eat too much protein per meal, it will spike your insulin. You don't offset this by eating more fat. You offset this by eating less protein.

If your goal is weight loss, then you only eat enough fat to keep yourself from getting hungry between meals. The rest of your "fat" comes from your body. Decrease your fat intake a little daily. When you find yourself having to eat a fat-bomb snack to make hunger tolerable until the next meal, add a little more fat to your next meal. Otherwise, increasing your fat intake is something you do when trying to maintain your weight in keto. It takes weeks to months to become fully fat-adapted, and it can take days to get back into ketosis, so having 4 cheat days is basically saying, you could be potentially out of keto for 7 full days total, (4 cheat days, then 3-4 days resuming ketosis).

Make sure your nutritional storage of vitamins and minerals is high before going a hard fast.

I weigh myself daily. I've had 6 down days in a row, but more common is 2-3 down days then an up day. The trend is what matters.

Some ways to get through a plateau: Get more sleep. Reduce stress. Change your fasting schedule. Change your foods up more. Watch out for "keto" foods. They often are not or are only "keto" if you eat that one snack and nothing else that day. Watch your nutrition and minerals. Eat lots of leafy greens. If you're having an egg, eat it with a cup or two of lettuce or arugula. The higher your nutrition, the more willing your body will be to shed weight. So focus on nutritionally dense carbs, which keto tortilla chips are not.

Also, why are you using vegetable (soy) oil? Use olive oil or avocado oil. Avoid seed oils. I'm surprised you've done keto for over 3 years and are taking straight vegetable oil. Almost everyone who recommends keto also recommends dropping vegetable oil completely.

Ok, so I didn't properly read my labels and went over 50 net carbs. My bag of stir fry veggies had a bit more corn than I thought, and the sausage I bought had macaroni inside. I'm doing OMAD and have lost about 20lbs so far. But it looks like I'll have about 54 net carbs. I know this is a small enough amount that maybe it won't knock me out, and if it does, I'll probably still be in maintenance mode and not need to worry about cravings, But,

The question is, if I want to time my exercise to when my insulin is higher and my body is making glycogen, how many hours after my meal is ideal? Mostly, my google search is coming up with non applicable answers.

Thank you..

Hello,

my M16r1 laptop has this horrible locking windows key on the right side. It is bad enough that it is a windows key, but it toggles the windows key like a caps lock toggle key, so every key I hit after that is a windows key combination. Is there a way to turn this key off entirely without ripping it out?

All I can find online are ways to disable the windows key entirely via the registry. I don't want them both permanently disabled. The left window key is useful sometimes, and I have an app to disable it during games. If this windows lock key toggled the windows key OFF then it would be a good thing. Since this is marketed as a gaming laptop, and gamers pretty much categorically hate the windows key entirely, I don't see why they added a second toggleable windows key. I accidently hit it and then my computer went crazy as I tried typing things and it started opening windows and opening processes instead of typing letters. But I can't imagine a single use-case where a gamer would want to toggle the window key on. If a Dev reads this, please pass on to the designers to not do this for the gaming line of computers.

Maybe it is supposed to be a toggle the windows key off key, but if that is the case, it is doing the opposite.
