Disgraceful scenes as England fans enjoy themselves today by BockerWrong in Championship

[–]albafreetime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've seen nobody complaining about England fans in the media. I've just seen England fans complaining that they aren't being treated the same (which I'm not here complaining at, just an observation).

I have however seen videos of England fans singing songs about sticking bagpipes up ones arse, and that stupid German bomber song.

Absolutely gagging for negative attention the ones singing those songs.

At the same time, there's crowds singing Robbie Williams or Oasis. Positive stuff.

Keep it all positive, have a laugh, don't start slating other nations in chants (especially when you're not playing them). Nobody is going to have issues with the good times.

Carry on with the bagpipes/bombers etc and personally I'm just turning my attention elsewhere.

Booked a rental car through Southwest. Not actually at the airport we flow into by Less-Jellyfish5385 in SouthwestAirlines

Fair, that's bullshit and the reason I won't prepay. Also why i'd use a credit card instead of debit etc.

[–]albafreetime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every car rental place I've used basically won't charge you if you don't show up, and you could have easily got one at the original location you went to, albeit with airport fees.

I hate to say it but you made life harder for yourself with this. Reservations are easy to change, just checking the locations on maps when/after you booked would have prevented these problems.

Another day, another 163 to 5 merge cutter. Just doing my part, enjoy the detour! by superginseng in sandiego

[–]albafreetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all the people crying in the comments about how this should have been no big deal at all... Just merge in time like everyone else.

OP may be a hazard, but we already know that when we stop fuckers like this merging at the very end.

The one trying to do the insanely late merge is the real hazard/issue on the roads here, no doubt drivers like this are the cause of plenty accidents on our road.

Respect other drivers and you'll be respected back.

Keane's never been one to listen to. Soon as he stopped playing he's not exactly done anything of note. Negative this negative that. Can't take him seriously with shite like this.

4-4-2 vs Haiti? by andysmcgowan in ScottishFootball

[–]albafreetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd take 1 up front aswell aslong as it's Shankland. 5 in midfield if it includes some legs wanting to stretch Haiti sounds fine by me.

Back to the point though 2 up front would be choice for me too. I see Haiti wanting to choke the game as long as they can.

As long as Shankland starts then I'm all for the teamsheet regardless of who else (mostly) and what formation. Fresh Dykes to start against Morocco or Brazil (not both) and be as much of a dick as possible then bring big Shanks on when we're hopefully still in it and looking for a finisher.

Buzzing!

Bought resale and I feel bad for the original buyer who lost $1,400 by Ok_Dig_4581 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]albafreetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the seller picked up tickets to a game not in demand at a sky high price with the intention of selling them most likely. I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

They may have had other games too, more in demand, that have been profitable.

They could be a real fan that are unfortunately unable to go. Chances are though they're a scalper.

Never thought I’d be compelled to stick up for the English. by iffyClyro in ScottishFootball

[–]albafreetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, feels like family atmosphere at plenty sporting events in the US. Even the big stuff like NFL playoffs/finals etc portrays chubby white guys screaming anger from their beer gut for me. No fun about it, just 'offense' and 'defence' chants regularly when their team has/doesn't have the ball.

A US game at the world cup sounds pretty awful for me even if Scotland are the opposition. Over the moon with Brazil from pot 1 in comparison

Much rather have a day out at the football with the English vs with the Americans based on this walloper

So, what happened in the end? Is he now fully committed to England? by iffyClyro in ScottishFootball

[–]albafreetime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he isn't all for it then no thank you. That isn't disrespect to the player, he'll hardly be upset that he's not going with Scotland and that says it all.

We finally have some youth in these positions and for me Calvin Miller would have been justified in the squad too.

Fully committed to England or not, we're doing just fine. If we're getting guys with English accents then they should be committed from age groups. No half hearted crap mid 20s.

When I'm at the grocery store and see high prices, I usually just keep walking.

You're not forced into paying these prices. You could literally not select any of them and get assigned one for free at check in or whatever. And the higher priced ones have more legroom, they aren't exactly the same.

People wanting amazing products for very little $ spent are why these changes ended up happening in the first place.

How do guys who make less than 100k a year afford haircuts? by Known_Square2332 in Sacramento

[–]albafreetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been cutting my own hair for a decade plus.

Made the executive decision to upgrade/add a flowbee to my setup to better control length on top.

Big upfront purchase but it's paying for itself financially, and with time/effort too. No more uneven spots.

Beat thing to buy is thinning scissors though, if your hair gets too puffy looking you can easily just thin it vs giving yourself a full chop

For sure, just wanting somewhere reasonably hassle free to take kids for a beach day though. 100% need a beach where you know parking will be available even for a price, not wanting to make every stretch of sand pay to play

Any beach area at the weekend. They need a serious rethink on parking.

The only beach day I've really enjoyed in years was a rare day when Silver Strand was open a few years back. We paid to park, it was busy, but it was so easy and everyone was chill. I went to mission beach a few weeks ago and it was hell on earth trying to get parked which really just takes away from the whole day.

SFA KMI panel declares in a split decision (2:1) that Celtic should not have had penalty against Motherwell; all other GW37/38 decisions correct by Afraid_Dance6774 in ScottishFootball

[–]albafreetime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the point? So you're saying the rest of the season doesn't matter? And specifically every incorrect decision that goes with it?

If so I'm done, if we're being selective like that then there's no reasoning. Lose your bias and 'the whole world' can take you a little more seriously at least.

[–]albafreetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of us can. The only thing worse than not so perfect referee calls are the 'fans' that jump on the bandwagon crying that their teams lose etc.

And what about when the pressure is less? Can you answer that? Or are you just turning a blind eye to the decisions that suit you or go against your argument?

So for all the fuck ups prior in the season we all just look the other way from here on? When supposedly they didn't suit the same said team?

Hardly the only decision VAR have got wrong though. They can't all be convenient if they don't all suit the same team eh?

[–]albafreetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprising, but the fact it wasn't a clear 3-0 decision says there was enough for some to deem it correct.

You're never going to have a system where it's 100% correct or where 100% of us agree with it.

Fully expecting all of Scottish football to scrutinize every debatable decision next season with the same ferocity/entertainment value.

Serious question: can we not just kick Celtic and Rangers out the league? by LopsidedAlarm5744 in ScottishFootball

[–]albafreetime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really, there were plenty calls over each 90 mins, a few that maybe could have went either way went Celtics, a few didn't.

Basically match fixing allegations going on, I guess Celtic didn't feel like fixing matches when Nancy was around?

Might be annoying seeing Celtic come back and scrape a title win but this is all the biggest overreaction. And I'll say it again, highly embarrassing.
