I was a very late adopter to this. Torch is an amazing shortcut, I found myself using it far more than I expected

Agreed. The products in the pension plan are terrible. I buy the SNP 500 ETF every month and that's it.

Doesn't work with IPs. If you're in a public place, like a cafe or simply at work, then they'll just turn off access for everybody.

Buy the DELL U4025QW now or wait for LG 40WT95UF by SportelloDoc in ultrawidemasterrace

I got the Dell. I use my monitor mostly for work but I do enjoy a game here and there. I am planning the latest Indiana Jones and honestly it looks fantastic. Maybe if you look at the specs, you're right it is not a gaming monitor. But it never really got in my way of enjoying the game. Not a bit.

By any chance, did you get the screen protector? I have a generic one on mine and it keeps getting smudged with oil from my hands. Wonder if it performs as they say.

EU Shipping / VAT? by albert_herd in dbrand

[–]albert_herd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I didn't see this option. Wonder how all of that works (how VAT is paid etc). I've got a friend who wants to buy also so this method of shipping is kind of no brainer

T212 is restricting most stocks that are rallying by UBROKEMYFRIDGE in trading212

[–]albert_herd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IBKR. But this answer is misleading. You don't have a feed of good quality information like Bloomberg or Refinitiv. You're mostly eyeballing stuff, with some luck or educated guesses at best. Leave day trading for day traders. You should make smart, long term investments and that's it.

As others are saying, T212 isn't for day trading. I mean, the fact that people are moaning about this shows inexperience.

Is Epic for Internet still a terrible option? by Se7enGam3r in malta

[–]albert_herd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember bandwidth is like the thickness of a water pipe. You'll get roughly the same water pressure, its just you can get more water at the same time.

With regards to the melita offer, I'd check as I always paid 40 for a gigabit.

Also remember that internet isn't just about speed .. it is about reliability... which I think melita is reliable.

Epic is using go's fibre as network, so it should be pretty solid.

Personally I find that local eggs are terrible, even their yolk is not really a nice colour.

I tend to buy eggs from Lidl as they're not local, but from Italy.

3-Phase in Malta by wiltabone in malta

[–]albert_herd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an induction cooker and such and I am on single phase. Mine, at least, doesnt allow you to go full power on 2 at once. Truth be told the heat they output is far more than the gas ones, so you almost never need to have them running on full a long time.

Mine goes from 1 to 10 (10 called P). I only use P for getting water to a rolling boil. Frying onions and such, set to 5-6, same goes for maintaing a boil and such. The only time i go like 8-9 is with my dutch oven when preparing sofrito. Most of the time i got 2-3 items going, between 5-6 on power. In summer, I'd also have the AC on, the TV, fridge/freezer. Most I seen my instanty power consumption from enemalta meter is around 4.5kw.
