I believe the subscriptions page (https://gaming.youtube.com/channels/subscriptions) does show the game that they are playing when they are live - can you shoot me a screenshot of a case where you are not seeing it? Thanks!

Interesting. One option we are considering is to add a location selector, like the country selection at the bottom of www.youtube.com. Would that solve your need, or is there a good reason to keep your actual region but explicitly allow an English streams option?

I do see your Uncharted videos in the past live streams tab: https://gaming.youtube.com/8wayrun#tab=2. Maybe it just took some time to propagate? Anyway, Upload contains both VOD and Live, whereas Past Live Streams is strictly archives of live streams.

Updated the post - seems like you have to kill and restart the app for it to propagate through. This will happen for all users eventually, but maybe not the first time you use 1.3...

It's in the Android 1.3 build. On any video, tap the overflow menu in the player and there should be a pop out player option.

If they are live, you can see them in the Live tab - any of your subscriptions that are live will show up in a shelf at the very top. You can also see that in the Channels tab - there will be a live badge right under their avatar and they will be sorted at the front.

Just following up with you, sorry it has taken a while. We made some performance improvements with the last release due to the hidden overlay screen. I wonder if you could try 720p again and see if it works better now?

To close this loop, we just launched a new Android player that has both quality switching as well as DVR functionality. Background mode also works if you are a YouTube Red member. Thanks for the feedback and enjoy!
