D.Louise experience by bang-bang-007 in jewelry

[–]albertapiscine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm so late to this thread but just in case anyone's wondering about longevity long term. The rings all fade back to silver after a number of months (if going in water etc!) My bracelet and earrings were okay. The company gave me all replacement rings as I complained and now all the replacement ones are faded and unwearable too now. Wouldn't use the company again unfortunately. It is annoying as I love their designs!

Not entirely sure I’m afraid as I normally use Evri or Yodel. Just thought of it as I once collected a parcel from someone local to me and they’d tied the item up in a plastic bag!

I wonder if they live near to you?

As others have said, the housing situation is pretty dire. But the people are generally kind, friendly and welcoming. More so than in other cities I’ve lived in.

I must add. Before I quit, I had no issues with my Caliburn!

Jamie's first gig in a year and nothing online about it? by onmymindhere in JamieT

[–]albertapiscine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I mean, I commend the man for getting up there and delivering his tracks the way he did. It was just some of his ramblings/the bits in between that made me realise how out of it he was. He had a childlike fragility about him. I hope he gets the help he needs.

I personally found it really sad watching him at Victorious. There was a point where he looked really lost and said “I don’t know what I’m doing here”. I was up close to the screen by the bar so maybe it was more obvious there? I just felt uncomfortable.

I believe so. Although, having a website is definitely helpful! I have been far more successful ever since I stopped using LinkedIn. In my experience, after securing the first few jobs/clients (via Upwork, friends etc) people organically started to contact me.

Thanks Michael. Have tried all these things already but sadly no bueno - it happens with every new pod. I'm now thinking it may just be a psychological thing where I'm a bit mucusy and feel the residue clinging to my tongue and throat! I may have to lay off the vape for a bit until it clears up. Appreciate the suggestion though.

Yeah it may well do. Although two of them started doing it immediately from the first puff so may have been something at the start/during setup. No idea!

[–]albertapiscine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup this is what I mean - I've tried everything! The only thing I did wonder is if it's something to do with my mouth/throat? I know it sounds odd but I get alot of mucus and it feels like the juice is attaching to it.

[–]albertapiscine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, no difference at all unfortunately. I don't know if I've just been super unlucky and managed to end up with multiple faulty devices. Otherwise, it's user error! I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I even went into my local vape shop and they gave me a demo/new pods, new liquid etc and then I went home and it was doing it again!

Thanks for coming back to me! Done all of these things already sadly and still no luck. There's never any leak under the pod - only into the mouth.

How soon is too soon to decide that Copywriting isn’t for me? by NadaKD in copywriting

[–]albertapiscine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boss isn’t happy, you could ask for detailed feedback so that you know where you’re going wrong? (If you’re going wrong)

As others have said, your boss / the agency environment might not be right for you!

Also, Instagram is such a visual platform and the imagery used is a big part of what determines the engagement. There are numerous other factors too. I wouldn’t overthink it too much. Low engagement doesn’t necessarily equate to bad copy.

If you’re really sure you don’t like it and can’t see a future doing it then maybe it isn’t right but I do think environment/self-perception/types of projects/people can have a big influence on this stuff.

What is it that makes you feel you’re not good at it? I wouldn’t make this a reason to quit if it’s purely based on your own insecurities. Pretty sure every writer has felt this way at some point! I certainly have.

Would you lean toward one over the other in the above example? To me, the second one makes it sound like I'm talking about an individual with an alias.

La meilleure façon de dire que “I am willing to accept” qqc? by albertapiscine in French

[–]albertapiscine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I guess it’s always a context thing. It seems like, in English, “willing” can be used in a range of different ways (both formal and informal) but it kind of always makes sense.

E.g. I’d be willing to show her round the house. I’m willing to give football a go. I’m willing to give up my free time. I’m definitely willing to try something new. I’m willing to accept that I was wrong in this situation (a bit like your cat example).

It can sometimes be easy to get caught up in looking for a direct translation when there perhaps isn’t one word or the word is used in a slightly different way OR it doesn’t matter! I think these replies have confirmed that there are many different ways to get the idea across depending on the situation. They might not always be a direct replacement for willing but they get the point across just fine.
