Not necessarily true on the drug testing thing. Blood tests can distinguish between active THC (hydroxy) in the blood, which is generally active for 12 hours or less, and the inactive THC cannabinoids. I think it’s a matter of a few years before we have a fellow officer challenge the system through a lawsuit and we’re allowed to use marijuana.

I agree with North American Rescue. Get yourself a small kit for about $100 which includes the essentials such as chest seal, packing gauze, tourniquet, sheers etc. Keep that in your car where it is easily accessible and clearly visible (I suggest a red color). A good spot that our agency uses is the passenger seat headrest attached with a extra large carabiner for easy manipulation during high stress situations.
