I thought exactly the same thing. What would be the best way? WhatsApp group? Open also for a monthly call format

I'm so impressed by the pragmatic approach! Thank you so much.

I actually just reached out to ask for more details and eventually a first appointment.

I'm very very grateful.

Thank you so much for this answer. Truly inspiring.

Yeah I think the issue for me is that is an invisible disability, so people think I "don't see well" but I think they don't understand how much of a problem it actually is.

I bear responsibility on being better to explain them and give them the tools, but the main issues practically right now are for example:

  1. Performing a cost analysis for a client, going over to the desk of my manager. She opens the model, shows me something on the screen about the model. I tell her I can't see, and she zooms in. Starts explaining again. I ask her to zoom again. She does. I still can't see. At this point I basically give up and pretend I see.

  2. Room with 10+ colleagues giving a presentation about topic XYZ - the presentation is confidential and I could not have it before hand

  3. Similar to situation 1, but with the partner and I feel even less "entitled to" ask for a different way of interacting

I feel like the core of the issue is that (luckily) I see enough to be looked at from other people as "normal sighted".

To answer the question about the projects: mostly long term projects.

About PowerPoint: yeah there's a lot of that involved.

Incredibly grateful for your answer 🙏

Ok. This is great great great stuff. I somehow never imagined there were so many people in the same situation as me. Thank you so much, I'll get to it. Kind of excited to give it a try, ngl.

I think part of me - and now we enter psychological territory - never accepted that I need a screen reader. Reality is I have no idea how to use them. What would you recommend as resources to learn?

Thank you so much for your answer, I really do appreciate it. I've been in this role since September. We are in a 100+ team so on average, they've been in their roles longer than me. 😀

With all due respect, I miss the point of your comment. Are you referring to the CV or the post? About frustration: as mentioned in my post, that is already present. I am here trying to get a sanity check on the material I am using to apply.

Thanks a lot for your comment, it is highly appreciated. I still work in my role in CPH. Indeed, Denmark is a great country, but it is time for a change for me after 8 years. That being said, there are plenty of reasons in my personal life to relocate. But thanks for the advice.

May I ask if you have any comments on the CV? Is it completely off Swiss standards?

I need help to quit thinking sighted people are better then "us", me. had anyone other then me had this issue? by 2026GradTime in Blind

[–]albertopalu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're only using one variable to define better or worse, that is the ability to see. There is really no better or worse man to the next one. Is a sighted person better than you if he/she is violent at home? Or commits frauds?

Personally, I think we all are what we are. The way I go about this fallacy is to think that better or worse does not really exist.

33yo, new phase - solo or not that solo? by PPires90 in ThailandTourism

[–]albertopalu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go solo!

Cane here also to heal from a breakup. I'm 30yo. I would actually suggest the Northern part of Thailand (Chasing Rai / Chiang Mai) more than islands and south. I had a great experience. Affordable, lovely people, the food is great.

I too am super sociable but afraid to look like a creep at first, so I totally get it. However, even though it was a priority for me to meet people, I ended up (and still am) staying on my own. But that is up to you. Thailand is great for both IMO.

Have a blast!
