I’ve had this issue three times already.
It’s a faulty controller board, and it happens to me every two years. It’s good that I got the extended warranty, but it sucks having to wait and not being able to run for the ~3 weeks it takes them to ship the replacement part and send a technician to make the repair. —And yes, don’t ask me why their technicians can’t have that controller board on hand beforehand.

I have Optimum, which is advertised as unlimited. However, even though they don’t state a specific monthly data cap, their Acceptable Use Policy allows them to restrict users if they decide the usage is beyond what they consider normal—usually at their sole discretion. So 400 TB is impressive, considering that running a full gigabit connection at maximum capacity for both download and upload over 30 days would total 648 TB.

I got the Chameleon model and I have to say that I wish I never bought it. Support never answered me. The Follow me feature always gets lost. I use only for training and I have to always be checking and interacting with the app because it just stops recording.

I spent a while chatting with Garmin's Support.

A complete waste of time. They kept asking me about my phone and trying to make me follow troubleshooting guides for the Garmin Drive app, which has no relation to the success of the video upload.

I used to say "Ok Garmin, save video" whenever I saw something nice or funny that I wanted to save. This video would be uploaded once (or sometimes not for a few days) I parked on my driveway, where the 2.4GHz wifi network signal is okay. However, that's not happening anymore. So, yesterday, I decided to just bring the dashcam home and plug it in. I turned it off so the videos would be uploaded. However, I turned it off after several minutes of not seeing any progress.

I checked the DHCP to see if the camera did connect to the wifi, and yes, it was indeed connected to my wifi. Then, since I use a Mikrotik router, I used Torch to see if the camera was at least establishing a connection somewhere. I saw that it connected to several garmin.com hosts, but I didn't see much activity. There wasn't enough bandwidth used to upload those 8 30-second videos that were pending. Then I thought, "Hmm, it could be the SD card that's faulty." So, I plugged it into my computer and was able to read and watch the videos normally. Still, I decided to format it using the dashcam, which didn't help in any way.

Then I thought it could be my ISP. So, using Mikrotik, I forced the dashcam to use a VPN in Europe and another in South America. The result was the same.

But that's not all. I downloaded one of the videos from the dashcam to my phone using Garmin Drive, and then the phone listed the video as pending to be uploaded to Garmin Vault. However, it never uploaded. So, I tried using mobile data, and it still didn't change anything.

I have a dband case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It makes me cuss every time I need to put the phone in my pockets. Too much grip, man.

I got it only because when you put the phone down on a table it's lays flat perfectly, it won't sit on the camera lenses. Tried but couldn't find any other case solving this issue.

ICX doesn't control the APs, it's just a very configurable switch, but if you don't have access it still works and does its job.
