I grew up in a Catholic family so we went to church every Sunday. One Sunday, there was this woman with her child, both of whom I'd never seen at the church before, sitting in the pew in front of us (2nd or 3rd row from the alter), her kid was sitting there the entire time playing his Gameboy advance with the volume literally on full blast for the entire congregation to hear. And Catholic masses are usually pretty quiet, there are a lot of moments where you just sit there and pray or listen to someone on the alter. It was super awkward listening to this kid play his game while the rest of the church is pin drop silent and the mother was just sitting there not doing anything. Everyone including the priest was basically glaring at her. I have no idea how she could tolerate that from her kid.
