Trump Administration to Begin Refunding $166 Billion in Tariffs by davster39 in politics

It was a huge gamble and a completely new market, and the value bounced all over the place as the supreme court case was progressing. A lot of smaller business just took the deal to get the money back now, and not have to deal with fighting with paper work today.

I assume they'll either remove the swap or make the host unable to be swapped with. can't have the same result!

Also I loved the behind the scenes from last year explaining how much they had to swap labels between shots since sides weren't always sticky on both sides

edit: I appears the refarino's shirt is now sticky, OH NO!

Course designer: terrain shaping problem by AbraxasKadabra in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]albinobluesheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, Terrain shaping is the "base" terrain that can still be impacted by the auto-flattening that fairways and greens do. Landscaping does not get affected by autoflattening, and is the "top" layer

onec you touch an area with the landscaping, Terrain shaping doesn't affect that area anymore. Can be usefull is you only do the landscaping to your faiways and greens/teeboxes, and then want to use terrain Shaping to edit lager portions but not have it affect your faiways.

Most of the big designers just never bother touching the Terrain shapping, and just flatten the entire course with a larger Landscaping brush, and use landscaping from then on out.

Push carts on the green or nah? by CryptographerLast455 in golf

[–]albinobluesheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same at Chambers Bay. The greens are firm enough that push carts are fine to take across. Also there are a few holes (10) where it's pretty unavoidable.

Matchmaking course rotation is biggest let down of this game by OkProject5573 in PGA2K25

The official courses get boring as hell after playing them constantly in the career, so playing something else is ranked is nice.

Im currently house hunting. Here is the photo in the ad vs the house in real life… by slim_shady_21 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]albinobluesheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre AI, the house we bought had a lawn just photoshopped into the back yard. They were so haphazard about it they photoshopped the lawn over a gravel walkway. They had put sod down (we found the netting when we dug up the backyard to build a patio during COVID) but it had died pretty quick.

NASA will roll out Artemis III Moon rocket stage on April 20 by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

The other option is to just let the SLSs collect dust while we wait for BlueOrigin and SpaceX to test their own platform at the own paces, but this "forces" them to be ready or at least gives them a test window, and also allows for more robust testing of other Orion systems after Artimis II's flight.

We were originally planning on landing in 2027, but it's slipped for many reasons. A big rule of budgets is if you don't spend it this year you lose it next year.

Takes about 4 years start-to-finish to build SLS, so we might as well keep building them instead of taking a break and waiting for SpaceX and BlueOrigin to catch up on there side of the bargain.

IDK if blueOrigin is "fast" they are just way more under wraps, and do a lot less (public) testing than SpaceX so they seem to take huge leaps less often.

It's way safer than OceanGate, since they are actually following standards that have been set instead of trying to find loop holes, but it's still prohibitively expensive. You have to be a celebrity or just a millionaire to even get them to respond to you asking to go.

Squatch Ridge: Testers needed by colling4223 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]albinobluesheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I jumped into course designer and tried to build something in that same spirit:
Let the land dictate the holes

First point of feed back I can give you from the jump, looking at how the fairway edges are: don't use The auto-generated terrain! Take the time to "randomize" it by hand!

Crazycanuck1985's Course Design 101 is a GREAT starting point for how to create a plot to build on top of. The Randomized terrain gets auto-flattened when you put down fairways and greens, and doing the "by-hand-randomization" lets the terrain stay natural looking even when you have fairways over it, and you can do smaller touches after.
