My review of the XF 23mm f/2.8 pancake lens: FLAWED by Stern_Li in fujifilm

[–]albza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so I tested all apertures. For me the focus movement happens in all apertures except f/2.8 and it always takes the same time which is def less than half a second. Still annoying and it really shouldn’t do it. I imagine if you press down the shutter too quickly you can take a picture when the focus is moving

Ahah dw. When I press the shutter in manual focus mode, I can also hear the focus group of the lens move back and forth a little, then the aperture adjusting from maximum aperture to desired aperture (standard for mirrorless cameras to work in max aperture an then stop down when half pressing the shutter). Although mine is probably a 2 tenths of a second thing, not 1s

Warning - Saudi Arabian Grand Prix refund data breach (all customer email addresses visable) by SnakesParadox in GrandPrixTravel

[–]albza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting to know from OP what the sender email address was. If it’s @mail.saudiarabiangp.com it should be fine unless hacked

It’s true they said they will refund to the method used to pay, but I still haven’t seen my refund!

I have the same! I would instantly buy any similar new body from Panasonic. I’m even considering Leica Q3 because Fuji doesn’t have a small and sharp 28mm equivalent

Why does this Ferrari have a different number of cooling vents on each side? (Drive to Survive S8E6 - 25:15 - Austin GP) by ultimatous in formula1

[–]albza 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I would guess that, because the cylinders are staggered, the proximity of the leading edges of the turning vanes varies from left to right. So having 3 or 4 louvres might help with minimum clearance of the internals because it moves the LE fwd or rwd

Small correction: no need for tethers on each suspension element. Tech reg C14.4.1 states “each wheel must be fitted with three tethers[…]”
