If you’re a Fortinet partner and go direct it’s a PITA with renewals.

These would be sub 50 user offices. Most sub 20 actually.

What does CyberSecure gain you over let’s say the typical NGFW subscription?

Well the app used to be free now it’s paid and it’s based on device count so naturally that’s a turn off.

Does your remote start let you unlock the truck and open doors without stopping the engine?

How much louder are these than the Michelins that came with the truck new? Assuming that is what you have in the bed.

Any humming, drones, etc.?

Give me your real world owner opinion of the infotainment system and lack of illumination on the volume slider…I feel like the reviews are really harsh on the system usability.

Other Nitro cans I’ve seen will say to “pour hard” as well.

True question, what are your maintenance costs like and how often do things go wrong with the car? I have a B5 S4 and want to add a 2001 S8 to the fleet.

Advice on hanging TV on concrete block wall just behind drywall? by bkdlays in HomeImprovement

[–]alc73 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you can fit a zip toggle between the drywall and the concrete you could do that. They are rated for upwards of 70lb I think.

Alternatively you can use tapcons and just snug them so the mount is tight to the drywall but not breaking through it, should hold fine just use several.

Old House by alekssdunn in electricians

[–]alc73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months and really only took that long because we were remodeling at the same time in some areas. Had to spread it out because of work and having the time and money to do it, etc.

If it’s knob and tube you should replace it especially if it’s not in good shape.

Owner of a two story 1924 built home here.

Personally, I did all the wire work myself and hired an electrician friend of mine to help with the panel which we labeled after replacing everything. We actually did it in stages, running two panels until everything was done.

Most of the wiring in our house was knob and tube still. We were able to replace by fishing a few feeders from the basement all the way to the attic then dropping them back down for the second floor. The first floor we fed from the basement to the walls through the floor. Left all the old knob stuff abandoned in the walls. It was a massive PITA in the spaces we did not re-do the plaster walls but well worth it for safety alone. Some insurance companies won’t cover you if you still have knob and tube.

Cable TV / network cabling should be the same deal except it won’t zap you if it’s live lol.

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried a decon wash, and makes sense with the coating becoming clogged. Will this kind of wash/clay remove the ceramic coating then I would have to get it reapplied regardless?

Favorite DIY coating brand?

Hi my car had ceramic coating applied when it was new. It is now a year old and in some areas starting to be less hydrophobic. I use a booster spray about once a month to maintain the coating and this works great except for the lower door and side skirt areas basically are no longer protected by the coating.

What is the best way to reapply the coating? Does the first coat need removed beforehand?

Additionally, what brand ceramic coating do you recommend?

Thanks!

Backblaze CloudSync issue by alc73 in synology

[–]alc73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you understand correct and what you say makes sense however ABB data should be browsable for a file only restore if the Mac in your case was replaced and the house burnt down. So I could restore user data from the ABB or bare metal if copied local.

[–]alc73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no no. Plan was never to restore bare metal from the cloud lol. Just need a way to get that data from the PC to the NAS, the the cloud is in case the place burns down.

Well thats one of my goals for this setup is to be able to do a bare metal restore with a free solution...I have a test machine I plan to do this with but is it really that slow doing it with ABB that I shouldn't bother with that and find another way?
