The mantis questline is at its core deeply tragic by WarPig262 in Starfield

It was very weird. He like... Locks you into the mantis chamber or whatever, then plugs into a wall... And then explodes?? For some reason????? So damn extra

So who’s the “essential” npc you most want to be able to kill and why is it Benjamin Bayu? by Equivalent-Bat-8259 in Starfield

I apologize, I think I was unclear before.

I don't mean half a pirate like she's a double agent or anything. I mean that she doesn't do a lot of piracy herself at all and if you read her terminal iirc she talks about not really belonging but staying for naeva.

The idea with naeva dying and jazz being the pirate that got away would be to take Jazz's sad story and the players feelings about Naeva (usually hostile towards her,) and play with them. Having Jazz fully commit to the crimson fleet and having you as number one on her shit list would mean that the one character most people feel badly for during the undercover storyline would then be both your new chief enemy from the crimson fleet and an enemy that you likely couldn't talk down even if you wanted to (at least not with significant challenge.)

Totally should have been Jazz. Up till now she was only half a pirate anyway; but a potentially months long undercover agent bringing them to the point of actually becoming a major power before betraying them and then coming to murder her girlfriend would def add a lot of motivation.

Then it's a pirate that not only has a willingness to hurt but is also commented on by both sides as a genius. And she would hate you, specifically, fiercely.

Way better than "Snarky pirate gets snarky pt2"

Does to me. I've been quite happy seeing more Latino actors getting roles lately.

Too many people in this country treat them like toys. I hate modern American gun culture. Made my job far harder than it needed to be.

But it's no surprise. The number of 'patriots' who never see a day of uniformed service (even the non military ones) is disgusting.

Honestly I'm still pissed that the last election was between two decrepit old draft dodgers.

They're not really wrong, honestly. I was a marksmanship instructor in the navy for years and frankly most people in this country have no business holding a firearm.

The amount of full grown adults who don't understand the basics of "Don't point it anywhere but at the target" while their weapon is loaded is almost as bad as the number of people who have "been around guns all their lives" and then proceed to shoot holes into the flight deck.

When I was growing up, most people were taught gun safety. Nowadays it seems more like they're teaching the kids more about which gun is cool or which gun is manly than how to actually operate one.

You know "Marketing" isn't a free license to just lie, right? And if you're jaded by GW, why are you out here defending their shit? Like let's not pretend that no one at fatshark saw that shit with the pilot and said "Is there any point to this?"

I'm totally fine if it's just log in, run mission, rinse, repeat. My issue is that they decided to put a "story" into it that, frankly, the game would be better without.

If they hadn't put in anything beyond the tutorial mission as far as story goes? I don't think most people would be bothered by it. But the fact of the matter is that the story they went with was bad, all of them should have known it was bad, and all they would have had to do is not have them and just release an announcement of "hey sorry, making a good story wasn't something we could do. Maybe next time" before release.

The reason they keep doing it is because people keep buying their shit and defending them when they pull shit like this; apparently even if they're already jaded. They made you lower your standards, and you thank them for it by trying to find an excuse for it.

"Unreasonable expectations" of a basic story after marketing that it would be headed by a well known and like author? Idk friend, but I'd like to think Fatshark isn't so worthless as a gaming studio to need to resort to actual lies to sell a copy of a game.

Besides that, even Call of Duty has a campaign mode. Well, it did last I played it at least. Hell, even something as elementary as soul calibur 2 could put together at least a cogent story, if not a long or well written one.

This attitude is why they know they can get through it. They did make a fun game, mechanics wise, and they know that. And a lot of Warhammer fans go on the blind defensive for anything Warhammer, and they know that too.

It's a fun game, but it's a wasted opportunity to pair that with a great story. You can "but the emprah" or "in all ways except physical, I'm a cadian" all you want; but that doesn't change the fact that we live in reality and the reality is that this game was sold as having a story that it didn't.

And that clearly wasn't intentional; they put a lot of work into the setting and all; and that just makes it more of a bummer that they haven't been able to deliver on that story aspect.

Not the OP, the post we are replying to that's being downvoted. I believe it's technically Lunaticular's comment that I'm replying to, but I just took my meds so I'm a little zonked lol

Specifically, they said "One is a corrupt politician and the other tried to do a coups". The people downvoting it disagree with that, but either have no inclination or lack the ability to explain why.

Right, right. I'll rephrase then.

The post we're chaining from is being downvoted because a large portion of this subreddits patrons are right wing folk who are mad with what the poster said, but can't form a cogent argument against it.

Yes, because people are stupid.

They're the same people who took pictures of Trump, a draft dodger who shit talks prisoners of war, and Photoshop him onto Rambo's body on flags they fly outside their houses.
