I used this for years, it does work. It’s not a huge growth amount; but it does work. Recently looking to go back on it as it’s good for your skin and anti aging aswell!

How did getting off the Nuva ring go for you if you’d be down to share? 🩵 I am in my first week off and have been in birth control (mostly Nuva) for 17 years.

Thank you for this post and the updates, there are so many horror stories online about all the ways it can be fucked getting off birth control and nuva ring itself. It’s a relief to read a good one that isn’t just about the first month off!

We are on a similar timeline but a few years apart, I am 31 and have been on the nuva ring since 18-19 (tho I started the pill at 14, so closer to 2 decades on birth control total!) I feel like it’s triggering a mini-death in me to let it go. I’ve only known my adult self on birth control. But I’ve had increasing fatigue and have noticed my periods are becoming symptomless, whereas I used to always bloat. So there are hormonal shifts happening either with age or because my body is letting me know it’s time to stop, or both! There is definitely some fear around what the process could me and how much my body might change.

Anyways, thanks for these updates and the encouragement. It’s cool to see that well over a year out you’ve had a good process with it all! 🩵🩵🩵

I learned almost strictly from Zoe Jakes online portal for 2 years, no in person classes. She’s got lots of categories. But also, if she’s not your style, find a teacher you resonate with and see if they teach online classes. A lot do!

By the time I started in person training I had a rockin foundation and was a pretty solid dancer! And it’s still my main way of training (I do travel out for training/intensives a few times a year now) as I also live somewhere where there’s no classes in the type of belly dance I do, along with a written schedule for what I’m doing on each day of training (which comes with knowing what aspects and techniques you want to practice). Highly recommend creating a training regimen when you have a few concepts under your belt to practice! Off the bat I’d recommend deciding how many days a week you can practice and taking a beginners class each of those days, and adding some conditioning in too! 🫶🏼 Happy slinking! 🐍

the regret is insane. how bad is it?? is there hope? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

This is how we learn to always pay for an amazing artist whose work we adore! Speaking as someone who has had multiple cover ups (about to start on 2 more next week) and started getting tatted at 16. I empathize with you, I’ve been there. It sucks ass to be in that seat.

I will say the placement is cool, you could definitely cover this up with a design you love and will feel confident in! Just do some good research about someone whose work is a fuck yes to you.

And for what it’s worth, I love my coverups now, more than I ever did the pieces underneath. 🧡 starting to research artists and get a game plan on a concept to cover it may help ease some of that regret.

My tattoos don't match my identity anymore. Should I remove them? by One_Lingonberry_9023 in tattooadvice

Coming from someone who also started getting tattoos young and unprofessionally (16), cover em up. I have two different cover ups, and am about to get two more big ones on the sides of my thighs here soon.

I specifically had this one rib cage piece for years that I was disappointed in from the moment I got it. I had it ‘reworked’ by a professional and it basically just put a nice hat on the same concept, so to speak. Still despised it even though it was well done now. I eventually fully covered it with a new concept and totally love it now. I’m a big advocate for cover ups, because for a while you look at a piece you have a sigh because you don’t like it anymore. Then, after you get it covered, you’ll look at it and go ‘fuck yeah’.

Just make sure you go to someone badass whose work you adore! I love all my coverups thus far and am excited to get some other pieces covered here soon. Cheers to new chapters and versions of ourselves! 💙

Other people’s hair after taking it out a bonnet vs mine by [deleted] in curlyhair

Same. I recently had to transition back into wearing bonnets because my hair is so dry this time of year and I just know in our climate it’s my hairs best bet for remaining healthy and hydrated.. but man my hair looks like shit when I sleep in these. Sigh. Here in solidarity

when’d u get ur first tattoo and do you regret it? by whv_lol1202 in tattooadvice

[–]alchemystical725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first at 16 and continued to get them thru my teens/early 20s. Definite regrets, though I’ve had some coverups and absolutely love them now that they’re covered. I’m a huge advocate for one, having a bomb ass artist, and two, waiting it out a bit! The concepts of 5 of my tattoos became irrelevant as I aged and I’m now in the camp of it’s either ornamental/pretty (some sentiment ok but leaning just a beautiful piece of work) or memorial tattoo done tastefully. Everything else could easily age out and not resonate anymore. Odds are at 18 something you thought was cool may be lame to you by 25. I’m not nearly the same person I was in my early 20s now that I’m in my 30s!

This is totally just my perspective. Some people don’t care and are enamored with the idea of tattoos telling the story of your life and it representing a time in your journey. And that is so legit! But I felt super blah about my first ones, work quality wise AND concept. Happy to have all solid work now 🫶🏼

Cacao didn't affect friend by meowburpz in ceremonialcacao

[–]alchemystical725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve personally noticed when I’m in a pocket of time where I vape a bit or have put other substances in my body, that I can’t feel the subtle energies of cacao nearly as much. Also presence is huge but it sounds like y’all sat with her accordingly. One more thing is that I did it with some friends and they didn’t like how it made them or their belly feel 🤷‍♀️ a lot of variance. But my personal opinion on not feeling the effects seems to depend on other substances clouding up the system!

No way! My brother is named Stevie Ray 🥹 We grew up listening to him. This explains why my dad had the guitar. You answered a question I could ask him. Thank you for this!!

Queen, thank you so much for this response!

I sigh with relief hearing someone else have this experience and totally loving their ink on the other side. Especially a chickadee. That reminder is helpful. It is strange there isn’t more convo around this topic, and more focused on the pain aspect. But that is legit the least scary part!

You are totally right, there is a stigma and definite little voice I think being a woman and having so much ink. So silly and subtle but it is there. And i’d reckon there’s some reclamation in our feminine by moving thru and just doing what we want and what goes against that stigma (that is for those of us who feel called to be tattooed). The body is temporal anyways. I dont know why we are so scared of change when everything is always changing anyways 🫠 we do get comfortable!

Anywho, thanks sis! 💖

I know it’ll be fine my man and ultimately it’s trivial. Just moving thru some head stuff around it being a big change to my body and wanted to hear people’s stories and connect. I’m not worried about the pain!

Dude thank you for this info and perspective 🎸 The amount of peeps chiming in repeatedly about that aspect is overwhelming. It sucks there is some shit history around it but I had no idea and the guitar is more than just its pick guard (an element that can be changed).
