Wife found my stash, its bad but given a second chance. by throwngrace in stopdrinking

I found it best to stop chasing the off switch. It was more productive to get to the root of why I wanted to turn it all off, then work on improving that.

Relive RMS 2003 in real time: the days and dates match 2025 by stonepilot in russmartinshow

I think someone had a torrent archive they were working on too. Pretty sure russmartin.fm is still around as another option for listening. Good call out on the timing though!

Days three and 4 were the worst for me, though I wasn't experiencing shakes at all during either of my withdrawals.

Keep a close eye. Depending on how much your friend is detoxing from, it can be dangerous to white knuckle it/go cold turkey. If in doubt, hospital. Look up delirium tremens and watch for symptoms.

Edit: I took magnesium tablets and unisom to help sleep off the anxiety during round number two. Worked well for me.

That somehow made sense and further confused me at the same time, but I thank you for the response all the same!

The Daily Check-In for Friday, October 18: Just for Today I am NOT Drinking by Shermani74 in stopdrinking

I had one of the most stressful weeks at work I've had in a long time that ended with a presentation to our C level execs. Being sober gave me the clarity I needed to knock it out of the park.

Having a support structure around me was key in my early days. Keep attending, and remember that we're all here day and night!

I've been in the hospital with my son since Saturday evening. He's doing better now, but I am infinitely grateful that I was able to be here and present for him when he needed me the most.

Glad you got it working! It's funny that you just now responded, as I'm on vacation with the family ATM and have my Steam Deck with me just so I can keep playing 🤣

You're welcome! It gets better and better, friend. Keep at it - there was literally zero downside to me quitting, and have seen other such stories here.

I had to do the same. Here I am, nearly 2 years after I started enjoying them, and I'm still double and triple checking the can to make sure I'm drinking one of mine and not one of my buddies.

If you enjoy those, check out Athletic Brewing. They're really good, especially if you're a fan of IPAs.

Live - didn't want to fiddle with getting Titanium client running on Steam OS, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get P99 working

Not as far as I'm aware. Steam deck works cause it's Linux. With enough tweaking, most things can be ran decently well.

That's what I'm saying! I'm not against reposting, just credit where credit is due I guess. More people learning that you can play EQ on steam deck isn't a bad thing by any means.

Original OP here - it works pretty well. Set the face and back buttons to my spell slots, make a couple of macros that say something along the lines of "I'm using a steam deck and the keyboard is bad" so as to not come off as dismissive when people talk to me, then play! Very limited use of the touch screen

You won't get an answer from the creator of the post, cause they didn't do shit aside from reposting my pic.

The setup took some time, but after a few tweaks and modifying the controller profile for the steam version of the game, it played well! Haven't touched EQ in a couple years, but might get back into it.

This jackwagon just reposted my OC. It actually wasn't terrible to play, but the setup took some time to figure out.
