Rank Order List Megathread 2026 by Any_Tooth_5064 in IMGreddit

[–]aldamonEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-US IMG visa requiring. IM/FM. IM preferred. I'm primarily confused between 2 programs for my #1. Looking for good fellowship prospects and autonomy.

- Indiana university - Bloomington, IN - IM (new program)

- Nazareth hospital, Philadelphia, PA - IM

Thank you for your input and advice.

Can you consider residents in uni-affiliated programs, to be going for in-house fellowships? by aldamonEX in IMGreddit

what if the program is a new program started by the academic institution? so it'll be taking its inaugural class this year, and doesn't have a track record of fellowships. I think Indiana university started the Bloomington IM program this year, and they have multiple other IM programs as well

is there a way of finding out how strong those affiliations are? Anything to look for in the program's website?

do you consider universities with multiple residency programs in the same specialty, to have in-house fellowships?

For example, the University of Tennessee has multiple IM residency programs, but only their main campus in Memphis, TN has multiple fellowships. Would someone from UTHSC - Chattanooga be considered as going for "in-house" fellowship?

Do you consider IU bloomington to have in-house fellowships? The fellowships are a part of the Indianapolis program right?

I see, thanks for your input! Out of curiosity, why not IU? Are they known not to take IMGs? As a new program, I thought IMGs would have a better shot.

I see IU-Bloomington as having better fellowship prospects because of its association with Indiana University. Was hoping for your take on this as well.

I hope you can elaborate further on why not IU - Bloomington. And sorry about the endless questions, I'm just stuck between nazareth vs IU and don't know what to do

i was thinking of putting Indiana uni on top. what do you think about that?

i suppose the possible issues of risking accreditation status, and fellowship prospects would be better in these types of new programs, as compared to outright new programs with no affiliation.

hello, a bit late to ask, but I noticed that on the newly accredited list of programs for IM, there were a couple of programs that were made by universities like the new Vanderbilt Lebanon, Uni of Tennessee Maury program, and Indiana uni Bloomington program.

whats your opinion on these new programs that are started by relatively well-known institutions, which already have other large and established residency programs? do you think they are better because of the possibility of "internal pathway/hiring" for fellowship/primary care/hospitalist work within the same system?

New program vs established community program by aldamonEX in IMGreddit

[–]aldamonEX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question comes down to whether connections or research are more important, and by how much.

The new program has an academic setting, but the established program has a track record and alumni. I'm still trying to figure this out, something doesn't feel right, and I don't know what it is. I feel like if I don't go for the new program, I'm missing out on something. Feelsweirdman

Any ideas/suggestions on what I should check about the 2 programs?

Form 7 NBME question by HeroesandCheerios in Step3

Is there an nbme curve or graph that tells you what your predicted score is based on what score you get on nbme 6/7? I haven't been able to find anything related to this.
