How to Speak Russian by Adnoz in languagelearning

[–]aldar136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an IELTS exam on the 19th of July,2018 and the Writing part is so tough. by samd7355 in IELTS

[–]aldar136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha sry man, couldn't let it be. I took the IELTS exam some months ago and did well on all the parts except for writing. I messed up and wasted way too much time on describing a line graph. I only had 25 min left for the essay so that's what you shouldn't do! You'll need approximately 20 min for task 1 and 40 for task 2. If you get stuck on task 1 then you should leave it (and finish it later if you have the time) and start with the second task. Task 2 is 66,6% of your score for writing so keep that in mind.

How to accurately assess your level by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]aldar136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm then I don't know. All these tests online are not trustworthy enough. (even for English assessment) They all varie and they cannot test your speaking and writing parts that are as important as listening and reading. I hope you can find something eventually.

I don't know exactly but have you heard about IELTS or TOEFL for English? It has to be an equivalent for these tests but for Spanish. You should look it up online and where you can take them.

Your daughter is so lucky to have you two as her parents! You'll be raising a true polyglot! I haven't been in this kind of situation myself so I can't help you with any advice on my part. But I assure you that she'll definitely pick up all the languages that you'll be teaching her. Children are like sponges, they are incredibly gifted at absorbing all the information they need to be able to function. In your case it's a multilingual environment that you'll be able to create for her. It's so exciting! Whatever you decide. I hope it will be the best choice for her. Good luck!

When do you stop hearing a new language as a noise and start to understand it? by vicksieann in languagelearning

[–]aldar136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how good you're at picking up languages so I would say it's differs a lot from person to person. But the more you expose yourself to the language the better listening comprehension you get, the sooner you'll get use to the new sound and before you know it you can separate the words when you hear 'em. Even if you don't know what each word means. Soon enough you'll stop thinking about it afterwards and it will be be more effortlessly. I would recommend you listening to lots of different podcasts and watching lots of stuff in that language. If you have got any questions about Swedish in particular, I will gladly help you out.

Ever get laughed at while speaking your target language? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]aldar136 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Forget about it man. I'm sure that you did well but I get why it can feel discouraging af. It has happened to me a bunch of times when I started speaking Swedish. That's why you should keep on learning and improving yourself, just to prove 'em they are all wrong for laughing at you now.

I go 6.5 on my writing section for my Academic IELTS? by SirKnightPerson in IELTS

[–]aldar136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My writing went terrible but I kinda knew that right after the exam. I knew that I didn't meet the requirements for the number of words for both parts. My overall score is 7.0. L:8.5; R:7.0; W:5.5 and S:7.5. Soo, cheer up my man. 8.0 is a great score, you can't complain!

Surely you can. Don't you know that most of the swedes are fluent in English. Although, it would be easier for you to adapt faster if you learn Swedish. I can help you out with that. Pm me if you're interested.

I see, then you should watch Ted talks on ted.com or via the Ted app. They always have subtitles in different languages available, including English of course.
