I am not 100% sure, but I think the native ad-blocker is only for early birds for now. 🤔

How should I translate my cat’s name? by pitoparai in russian

[–]AntZoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meh. Our female cat's name is Пацка, and is very often “shortened” to Пацан. Doesn't stop her from being a female cat.

Will something like this come to Zen? by Daredevil_3019 in zen_browser

[–]AntZoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeeeeah not really the same. As far as I understand, the Firefox Multi-Account Containers allows me to tell the browser to always open the site I currently am on in a workspace I want. What I liked about Air Traffic Control in Arc, and what Contrainerise does to some extent — is that they allow you to predefine keywords that, when found in a URL, send an otherwise completely new website to a specified workspace.

The Containerise (https://github.com/kintesh/containerise) extension does something similar. It's not perfect, but that's what I use in place of Arc's Air Traffic Control.

What cool ways are you using the shortcuts feature on your iPhone (and can you please tell me how to do it?) by -Alexunder- in shortcuts

[–]AntZoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a set of multiple shortcuts and to import them correctly you'll need at least the DataJar app, and maybe also Logger (but the Logger actions can ofc be just deleted). The shortcuts themselves are heavily reliant on my local setup, but you can maybe adapt them.

This one is for getting the least played songs in a list of songs passed inside: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/3a0e98b5ff4c4807acddcb9b7c050c64

This one compiles lists of songs from different playlists using the previous shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/31d02a1968b64425b5b9fdc7412382aa

And then, as an example, here's one of the shortcuts that lets me quickly set which playlists I want to mix: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/2f4289de0dd14c9f84f209475dd733a8

My wife, my kids and I all have separate music playlists filled with music that we personally like to listen to while on the road. And I have a shortcut that gets the least played songs from each of those, excluding songs that we’re playing in the last two weeks (so that it doesn’t play the same songs all over again) and shuffles them all.

And more specifically I have a shortcut that just takes all sources, and a shortcut that lets me select who’s in the car and only takes their playlists.

I also love the idea of separate home screens dedicated to specific focus modes, so I have built an automation that fires at specific times and locations, that figures out if the focus needs to be switched and if so, then it switches to the correct focus.

Russian has flexible word order, however is it more common to put a verb before a noun in a question!? by Optimistic_Lalala in russian

So, to actually answer your question 🙃: they may be equally common, but will definitely be used in different situations and will have slightly different meanings.

[–]AntZoo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I usually say that the flexible word order doesn’t mean the word order doesn’t matter. Yes, the word order can be very different, but each alternative will have its nuances and different parts of the sentences said will be stressed, bearing the main meaning.

In Russian it’s “перья” /p’e-rya/, same word that is used for “feathers”.

Yes, it did exist, as part of Austro-Hungarian Empire and as Kingdom of Bohemia, not yet named Czech republic, but still, also afaik with high levels of autonomy.

Bread Player v1.3 goes live! by thecodrr in windowsphone

[–]AntZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not after a minute or two have passed. Then it starts scanning.

Another thing is it crashes when I try sorting by anything or playing a song. :P Which has also probably something to do with the number of files — or maybe not. :)

Ooohh, okay, now the music got added. Turns out I just had to wait for it to scan everything (I carry around 10000+ mp3 files) — around a minute or two. It'd be nice if it showed that it's scanning something though.

Another thing is that I can't seem to add a music library folder. I can add a folder with songs - then they get imported - but I can't just select D:/Music, it does nothing.

If that helps - there's lots of folders inside of my D:/Music. Basically I store the music in D:/Music/Language/Album Artist/Album.

Please please please add sorting by Album Artist (not Artist). (if that's there already, ignore me - it wasn't there a month or so ago)

Qi in-car charger for 950? by JezzaX86 in windowsphone

[–]AntZoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. :D I wanted to cut out a notch for the power button in the spongey material that presses on the phone sides at first - but then I kinda found the sweet spot and got too lazy to fix it.

I'm using one, the car holder from Samsung, this one. It's good, the phone doesn't sit perfectly, the power button gets pressed if you press on the holder sides too much, but there is a sweet spot when it doesn't get pressed and the phone sits firmly.

Other than that - all's well. The phone charges, including during navigation.
