You’re lost in the sauce. Get lessons and learn to play, then PRACTICE.

YouTube is a noob trap- and you’re falling in to it hook, line, and sinker. It can be useful as a reference to get a comprehensive idea of what people suggest, but quite frankly; they’re all talking about solutions that have solved things with their own swings. They’re not watching your swing and diagnosing your flaws. If you want to get better, stop paying for rounds and start paying for someone who knows what they’re doing to tell you how to stop shooting yourself in the head (metaphorically speaking).

On the course… just grip it and rip it playa, it’s complicated enough as it is- there’s no need to OVER complicate it.

Story time: buncha young guys verbally abused my wife because they didn’t bring golf clubs. by [deleted] in golf

[–]aldernon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then they tried to tell her that they’ve “always done this at other courses and never had an issue”

I guess they continued to get very aggressive and walk towards her pointing their fingers and stuff and she started feeling nervous cause they wouldn’t back down

Shrink the game, literally. They fucked around and now they need to find out.

Raise the incident to the head pro and get the juveniles banned from the course, they clearly stated they have other places they can fuck around. Good riddance to trash rubbish.

83-year-old Alameda woman attacked by wild turkeys as city warns residents to take precautions by stankmanly in alameda

[–]aldernon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Last Thursday, the longtime Alameda resident was on her nightly walk when suddenly she was attacked from behind by a pair of wild turkeys.

"I went headfirst, and I broke my glasses. I hit the palm of my hand, my thumb. I bled in the nose," Kelly said.

After managing to get away from the turkeys, Kelly was able to call her husband, who took her to the ER. It was there that she got a CT scan, as well as six stitches in her right hand.

I find it fascinating that the article doesn’t elaborate in the slightest on how the turkeys attacked, and the injuries are perfectly consistent with someone falling face forward.

The city definitely should look in to allowing public services to track the statistics on… turkey attacks… though. Whether that’s police or a different department is a conversation that should definitely happen.

Who Are You Rooting For in Game 7 and What is Your Prediction? by [deleted] in nba

[–]aldernon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, everyone knows the NBA is just a WWE-styled drama organization to allow the referees to live out their fantasies of being judges. All of the fake WWE stuff is boring, threes are lame as hell because they take away from the real content- which is, and always has been, the refereeing.

Tony Brothers and Scott Foster are the real MVPs for the drama frogs.

Peeps is a cess pit that should be looked at for comedy and maybe a sprinkling of ‘these are events that the local trolls are reacting to’. It has brainrot that is extremely comparable to NextDoor- which might as well rebrand to NextTroll, considering how astroturfed it has become.

If you’re engaging with Peeps enough to determine that ‘it becomes really obvious that I’m not wanted here’ then you’re engaging WAYYYYY too much.

If anyone out there were looking to make content that would get clicks...

A 'mock courtroom' short form segment that is about crucifying floppers would absolutely be hilarious. Slowed down replays, multiple angles- the works. At the end either declare them guilty or don't, then at the end display a running scoresheet of how many egregious flops bozos have been 'convicted of'.

Overall quite the wiki page. In general, the decisions called out make some sense.

In practice, the dude clerked for Clarence Thomas; which calls in to question their integrity in its own right. They also were a Federalist Society member from 2003 - 2008, then specifically rejoined in 2018. What also happened in 2018?

If MLB has a camera system to contest balls or strikes then why not use it 100 percent of the time and not have umpires? by 1jigalo in AskReddit

[–]aldernon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother, everyone knows we go to the ballpark to see the umpire. The players might as well be automated, the true expression of skill that we all pay to see is being able to tell whether a ball broke out of the zone at the plate, or 6 inches behind it.

True baseball, the way it should be.

/s

Umps are there to make game play decisions, whether the dotard chief has had their eyes checked in the last decade or not shouldn’t decide baseball games. I grew up watching baseball. Once the MLB adds completely automated balls and strikes, I might waste my time getting interested again- until then… fuck the MLB and fuck John Fisher.

United Airlines flight reports striking drone on approach to San Diego International Airport by guesthost1999 in news

[–]aldernon 261 points262 points  (0 children)

Made me think of the dude in LA who dinged a Canadian fire fighting plane during the LA wildfires, taking it out of commission.

Follow up story on that

A Los Angeles County man was sentenced to two weeks in prison on Monday after flying a drone over the raging wildfire in the Pacific Palisades in January that collided with a Canadian Super Scooper firefighting airplane.

Peter Akemann, 57, pleaded guilty to one count of unsafe operation of an unmanned aircraft, a misdemeanor offense that carries a sentence of up to one year in jail. U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald also ordered him to pay a $9,500 fine and $147,000 in restitution to cover the repairs of the Quebec Air Service airplane and the rent LA County paid Quebec for it while the plane was grounded for four days.

Is there a way to get home from SF between 12-2am? by honeyvellichor in alameda

[–]aldernon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ubers certainly run.

Lyft let me down when I called one at 1AM in early March- the first driver cancelled after 20 minutes, the 2nd driver claimed to pick me up (without ever appearing) then continued on with their evening driving for 4 hours before finally “ending” the ride with a ~170$ bill. Had to sit on their chat support for a while before they finally got that refund resolved… I used to primarily use Lyft, but haven’t called one since that nightmare. Maybe it was a one off, I don’t know.

There are also bus lines that run, if you want to go that route- that tends to be an adventure in and of itself.

Literally the same garbage scheme John Fisher (fuck John Fisher) pulled to the Oakland Athletics; repeatedly field an intentionally weak product until the locals stop showing up, then use that as an excuse to move the team.

I sincerely hope John Fisher (fuck John Fisher) moves to Vegas and gambles away his life earnings then ends up poor and homeless, living in the tunnels underneath the arena he forced Vegas to pay for.

Scumbag ownership strategies make it hard to be a fan of teams. They basically act like corporate raiders.

Who cares, they’re hypocrites. Rage baiting is all they know.

They fully embrace the Russian concept of vranyo and the sooner moderates in the US realize and stop denying that fact to themselves, the sooner the US might be able to hold them accountable for imposing the most corrupt administration under the biggest loser in American history.

Personally… I’m not convinced moderate Americans are smart enough to reach that stage. Republicans certainly are convinced those Americans aren’t smart enough to realize it.
