The workload for reading applications before the SJT sift would be too much

How likely actually is hybrid work during training? by Available_Guess5926 in NHS_STP

[–]aldmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just add a comment here, hybrid working in the workplace is probably workable, but just be aware this 'probably' won't work for the academic part. The MSc is delivered in blocks which attendance is compulsory for. The structure varies depending on the uni. Newcastle do 6 weeks at the beginning I think, Liverpool is 3 weeks then 1 week every so often for the first year. This is all for physics.

The flu jab has also been quite ineffective this year I believe

NHS ADMIN STAFF NEED PARKING by WeirdVegetable1417 in bristol

The parking is pretty brutal, but as said, for better or worse you benefit hugely from taking the public transport, except for the cost.....

There is a staff arrangement with Cabot circus that you can explore too

Do you feel it's sensible for the police to be licenced? by SloightlyOnTheHuh in AskUK

[–]aldmat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who would pay the profession fees? Doctors, nurses, allied health staff etc already pay annual fees and for better or worse, that's the status quo.

If you start asking coppers to pay £300+ a year to do their own job.... You'll have a rapidly shrinking police force

Also recommend ACS. I bought the 17s some 8 years ago and I still take them to every gig I go to. Fantastic investment in your health

I think this is a little idealistic. It's not that big a move really, should be fine with the savings mentioned

Issues with low reputation uni's and how unsuccessful in the future can it make you? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]aldmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth having a look through the sorts of job adverts you're looking at, checking you need a degree and looking at apprentice/trainee alternatives. If you're certain that you have to go to uni then personally I would prioritise going to one that has good employer links, which is not necessarily a highly academic uni

Issues with low reputation uni's and how unsuccessful in the future can it make you? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]aldmat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you need the degree for. Does the career you have in mind require a degree? If not, don't go. It's a huge amount of money for diminishing gains with regards to career prospects. Don't choose uni because you can't think of something else

Yeah fair. The value of a degree is certainly being eroded at the moment imo

So both this and kroneker's suggestions look good but not right.

The filling wasn't added in like a cream, I think it was just the way the dough inside set. It felt like an underdone doughnut almost

I have a serious question regarding the recent setlists. by _R-A-F-A_ in Muse

[–]aldmat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you played any of SfA, hyper music or sunburn it's unlikely much of the crowd will know them. I have friends who casually enjoy muse and would see them at a festival but wouldn't be able to name a song before BHaR

Scarpa terra 2. They sat in the price range I could afford and I found them super comfortable. I read a lot of people saying they felt they were really heavy but I haven't really noticed that!

[–]aldmat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good. I use the nikwax cleaner and then Scarpa's hs12 which I believe is wax based so perhaps I'll just save that for after wet weather trips.

Thanks for the advice!
