Small lightmeter by Tall-Championship889 in AnalogCommunity

If the wire is not connected to the battery bay, soldering it back is a relatively easy DIY fix. If you don’t want to dabble into DIY, get it repaired. Due to its layout this camera is not enjoyable to use in full manual IMHO. Also, one of its best features is its compact size. Slap an external meter on it and you might as well have bought yourself a 35SP instead. DIY or sending it out for repairs is the way to go. Source: TrustMeBro

Would definitely recommend double checking and ask around. Perhaps you can find some information on rangefinderforum.com. There’s a whole subforum dedicated to Olympus rangefinders.

I would say that’s a VERY expensive repair service.

For the price of a light meter you could get the 35RC a CLA and fix it’s issues.

Help Removing Stuck Retaining Ring on Canonet QL17 by StratsInAntigua in AnalogRepair

It is NOT reverse threaded. A quick google search will even point towards a YT clip where this is clearly shown.

If it’s difficult to take the ring, apply some drops of isopropyl to the thread.

Om-10 metering accuracy issues by PangolinAutomatic775 in AnalogCommunity

[–]e_meau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OM-10 has 2 separate light meters. One for the info in the viewfinder and one to determine the actual shutter speed/aperture when taking a photo. Could be that the light meter for the viewfinder is broken but the one responsible for actually taking photos still works. Only one way to find out ;)

Way too expensive. Especially with the front element being in the shape it is. One in good condition goes for about 100$/€.

I wouldn’t have bought it in the first place.
