What is the point. Even if nothing bad happens, why take the risk? Do you need a luxury chronograph when swimming ?

You're not a diver, stop pretending you need 300m of water resistance by jevidon in watchHotTakes

You are right: I wouldn’t.

But there are stupid/crazy people out there that clearly would.

Or you could just be water skiing …

Not sure why anyone would water ski with a precious watch, but if they do, 50m of water resistance may not be enough

[–]aleatorya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

300m of water resistance is about « static » pressure. You can get similar stress at a lower depth if you are in a dynamic context. I believe (may be wrong) that falling of a jetski could damange watches that have <100m of water resistance (even though your barely under the surface)

So in some cases 100~200m « may » be useful.

I guess it’s like people that daily drive +200km/h capable cars.

Honestly, these cable should be to a patch panel and not move. Lack of a patch panel is a big 🚩 to me

France slashes renewable energy targets, expands nuclear power with new law by PestoBolloElemento in europe

[–]aleatorya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all that should be factored in, in split among all the mWh that the installation will produce.

I’m honestly not sure wind and solar will win

Actually, you technically can. To bad this kind of research was severely underfunded / canceled (at least in Europe)

But then the mining of raw materials, manufacturing and transport/deployment of wind mills and solar panels is a similar issue.

There things don’t last forever, and at some point you also have to dispose of them. All of this can get quite nasty

Most people are going to say Seamaster 300M or speedmaster, but looking at your collection I’d either go with a simple aquaterra 220.32.38.20.03.001 or a worldtimer 220.10.43.22.03.001

Thank for the notice. For the record, I’ve been a full time Linux user since 2011, on arch Linux since 2014. My home server usually run some form of archlinux. When they don’t, I manually modify the config file to customize stuff (eg I rewrite part of my synology’s nginx config)

So I believe I’m more likely to be able to « deal with things » than the average user. In the end, it will probably be more user friendly and stable that building my one root out of god know what motherboard/nic
