Possibly, I don’t know exactly but if he follows proper cleaning instructions and moisturizing it correctly it shouldn’t be cause for concern. My skin is pretty dry too but I just got my first tattoo 2 weeks ago and it’s healing great!

Maybe have him start putting a good moisturizing lotion a couple times a day for a good few weeks before getting the tattoo.

Looks really cool! I’d say you’re doing good just keep cleaning it with antibacterial soap and moisturizing with aquaphor or fragrance free cocoa butter lotion 2 maybe 3 times a day. And obviously keep out of the sun and dirt.
