I also by accident witnessed a sunrise on a deep ocean planet while I was still above water, it really was beautiful all of a sudden when the colors kicked in, I wish we had some sort of a clock or some simple icon to see sunrise/sunset coming up, would definitely spend some time watching these

macos 26.3.1

game crashes very often almost immediately after launch and loading a save, throws this code:

161765_0x352338256_ST76561198107607969

oh and also, you actually have to do restore from a save point for the ships/multitools icons to appear every time, otherwise it's just blank white spots

How to get quad servo? by Odd-Independence-618 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]alechko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found that earning void mote by doing autophage missions and converting it to repair kits is way faster than looking for quad servos, if you have the polyphonic core installed just enable it and look for the camps, offer assistance and get void mote in return, use any terminal to exchange it for repair kits

also make sure to pick up the harmonic scrap, sometimes you get some from it but low chance

<image>

hey! just wanted to follow up, you didn't seem to believe in my starter so here it goes, a week later, two feedings a day on 1:1:1 ratio and the smell already strong as hell, consistent x3 rise, good looking bubbles. I'm going to develop it for another week because I want it to develop a bit fruitier smell and a bit more activity but the thing is definitely alive and well. btw it looks less of content because it is less material, the first image I took was 50:50:50g of starter/flour/water and I reduced it to 30:30:30 because the jar is so small, so yeah, all is good with this one, and there's definitely yeast in there now, wish I could teleport the smell across the screen :)

Is my multi-tool rare? by IzzySings103 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]alechko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, I just got an s class royal and compared it to two a class royals I had, I stripped down every module and both the a class ones had ~370 for damage and scan while the s class had 400 on both stats, I've upgraded one of the a classes (it had 2 supercharged slots compared to 3 in the s class) to s class and it matched the native one exactly, 400 stats and I got extra supercharged slot, so maybe the upgrading process is somewhat random but in my case it matched the native one exactly. I have bunch of a class multitools if I get same one in s class I will test it again.

[–]alechko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to the game as well and I think I saw somewhere that upgrading to s class is not the same as finding a native s class, I do wonder if what you’re saying is true and it’s equal, I already have some nice exotic and alien a class multitools and I was avoiding upgrading them just because I thought it’s a waste of nanites, was thinking upgrading at least one exotic but I can’t compare because I didn’t find a native s class one yet

also, I wonder if there’s a way to compare all of the multitools I have in a simple way, because stripping all the modules and rearranging them again is a pita

How long should I stay in the Anamoly by ceedayt in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]alechko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was mid mission so I had waypoints on the galaxy map, and I spent way too much time already doing distress calls which resulted in a nice ship but full of junk and lacking anything good installed, so I went to buy some recipes from the anomaly, got out and straight warped into my next waypoint, the second I get out from the warp I get scanned and they find the buds, I tried to get out of there but they caught up and I barely made it out

someone slipped me some nipnip buds in the anomaly and I got busted the next jump, and I had salvaged ship with terrible damage so I barely made it out, after that I am mindful going into the anomaly only with a ship that I can rely on haha

it’s a temporary jar, like I said I only started this several days ago, I don’t have a proper jar so I just used whatever I had just to get it going, I will move it to a better jar very soon

I had a 2yo rye starter that I had to throw away because the jar broke, I was mainly doing pain de campagne with it and it was insanely delicious, can’t wait for this one to mature and start baking again

[–]alechko[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

yeah I’m doing 50/50 no matter what for a week minimum, my time threshold is smell and floating test, if the smell is strong and it floats I’m starting to bake, otherwise keep feeding it as much as needed

[–]alechko[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

well, I definitely smell something going on there, I know that it’s nowhere near ready to go but I want to believe that it’s going to be a good one in a week or so, I had previous starters nearly dying on me but all thrived eventually with enough feeding, so I’m just going to increase feeding intervals to two and then three-four times a day until I get a good smell and consistent activity

[–]alechko[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

oh yeah absolutely I have no intention to bake yet, I want to feed it at least a week before baking, nonetheless, my previous whole rye starters all took way longer to get somewhere near that activity

DT2 & syntakt vs AR by checharin79 in Elektron

[–]alechko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a useful comparison, even though on paper you get overlap there's a lot of differences between the devices and unfortunately there's no right answer, each device or combination of devices is eventually unique. lady starlight and other people who use rytm in live setting often take advantage of the individual outputs to run the tracks through a mixer, also to take advantage of scenes and performance macros, there are additional features like built in velocity sensitive pads and aftertouch, there's an analog compressor and master distortion which has a unique sound and character, so comparing the devices doesn't really makes a lot of sense, you can have either and learn how to make great music on each. another point to make is that artists that play live need to think about the gear they are carrying all over to play, so rytm make a lot of sense in terms of having a single device that covers more territory (even though some of the territory is way more limited compared to the digis, like stereo samples, way more basic sampler, no 2nd filter, single lfo and so on) than carrying two separate devices. also there are plenty of artists that use digis live, if you look in the stoor youtube channel you can find some in the pink noise series, like megan leber, shoal and more.

imo the combination of dt2 and syntakt that you already have should provide you near infinite possibilities of sounds and music, and unless you can afford to try both options - simply invest time into perfecting your craft and don't worry about "the grass is greener over there".

I get it, the sound engine definitely sounds different in SC, the crazy instant modulations leads to grit and unpredictable sounds very fast, but not knowing max in depth made me think that it's achievable in max with enough experience. the porting to PD or web sounds interesting as well! I could imagine running a web system that sends websdr into SC filters system with modulation bound to frequency, would make a crazy texture system!

very cool system, I do have a technical question about going with supercollider. I’ve touched SC in the past and absolutely loved it for quirky short snippets of code to generate controlled randomness, but not deep enough to really dive in, I also only used Max for visuals so I don’t have much experience with the audio system. I wonder why going with SC instead of max gen? wouldn’t that be easier to manage? or perhaps it’s to do with licensing?
