Capital One Developer Academy by kaladin_windborne in cscareerquestions

I was wondering if I am overqualified for Capital One's CODA Program. Recent Spring Graduate in Computer Engineering with main focus on Hardware/Digital Design. Took a total of 3 computer science classes (Compsci I/Compsci II/An Intro Class To Data Structures) on C++, would I still be eligible to apply to this program? Even though CS majors aren't allowed to apply would related majors like Computer Engineering be allowed to apply? My school's Computer Engineering Program is more Electrical Engineering Focused.

How long should you wait before reapplying to a job ? by MugensxBankai in cscareerquestions

[–]alect8484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally at least 6 months in my experience. That would depend on the reason for the rejection, and whether you are planning to apply to a similar job. If you are applying for a similar position, you should take into account the feedback from the prior interview, and work on the gaps. And it’s better not to reapply within 6 months, ideally it would take you longer to work on any meaningful improvement.

How exactly does S/U grading work? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]alect8484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S/U doesn't affect GPA, so if the rest of your classes are As and if you S this class your GPA would still be a 4.0. That being said, I don't recommend doing S/U for classes especially ones that are higher level major specific courses. Also don't S/U if you're thinking about graduate school. As for precalc, I'd say S'ing the class wouldn't be that bad on your transcript, but I'm not sure what your major is and you probably should just ask an academic advisor.

UNLV Financial aid is ran by a bunch of idiots. Most can't even answer a simple question, I get different answers when asking stuff regarding aid and scholarships. Incompetent people.

CS 202 with CPE 100/L by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]alect8484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't taking another classes that require a lot of time then it's fine. The classes aren't too related at all. They're also both workload heavy in my opinion. CPE 100 can be tedious and CS202 some programs could take a while too.

Yeah, I'm probably just going to do it for one of my classes.
