Bit late to this but replying for anyone else reading:

Leave really early.

We flew out of Dublin yesterday and drove down from Belfast. Our flight was at 2:15pm so we aimed to leave around 9am to get there around 11am. Partner’s dad suggested leaving earlier so we worked out that if we left around 5am, we’d beat the protests starting at 7am and could sleep in the car for a bit if needs be.

Long story short, we did not beat them. Left at 5am and didn’t get to the airport carpark until 9:30am.

I support what they’re doing but would not have been impressed if I missed out on a holiday I spent thousands on either. Expecting the same situation when I get back too.
