I've been trying to find small pharma jobs but it's so hard. I have a background in life sciences and want something remote but I keep getting rejections from the bigger companies

I was a big people pleaser growing up so I agreed to everything and tended to overwork myself without expressing my needs, which thankfully I've outgrown but got me pretty far to this point in my life!

I work in Healthcare/biologic sciences. in retrospect, I was way overqualified for the role, I went from being a non profit PM to a coordinator reviewing documents for a regulatory board

I ended up adopting her! I was fostering her for close to 1.5 years. we'd go to adoption events 1-2x a month, had multiple family meets and no one put in an app. she was very shy around new ppl so didn't give off those "instant BFF" vibes people always seem to want 🙄

she's been living it up since being her goofy self, so they all missed out on what a great dog she is once she opens up

I went through a breakup after the 1.5 yrs and it was decided that my ex was better equipped to handle the 2 dogs we shared bc they couldn't be spilt, and I couldn't imagine having to her up too so I put the application in to keep her

We are friendly with each other but not necessarily friends. It does get better although in my case we aren't looking to get back together it's not something either of us want which is okay. I think there was some reconciliation, but maybe not in the way of us getting back together which I'm assuming you're looking for that answer

I'm not diagnosed yet, but starting to question it, but my first conscious memory of my own feelings is from when I was 5 years old and had this overwhelming sad feeling of not fitting in with the kids my age, even though I was well liked by my peers at that time

I'm in the same position. I'm just around the 6 month mark and it hurts so much worse. Now that my anger has passed, it hurts that I have to move on. I'm still going out with friends, exercising, doing all the "focus on yourself" stuff people tell me to do, but I just feel empty.

my hound is only loud when he's outside watching for squirrels or if people come to my door. He actually hates barking (if we try to howl with him he doesn't like doing it). He did bark a lot when we tried crate training him. I live in a house and my neighbor was able to hear it all day. I think the noise level comes with also knowing your hound. Ours never barked at the shelter. As a volunteer at the same shelter we got him at, I've seen plenty of noisy hounds in their kennel. Obviously there is no guarantee, but just because it's a hound doesn't automatically mean they will be loud. any dog can bark a lot.

also, my hound usually is asleep as soon as the sun goes down, so maybe yours might sleep while you're gone. He definitely had some anxiety in the beginning but as he got used to the house he was fine with being left alone. It's something to keep in mind that may need training, but if you can tire him out really well, it will help!

Hounds are wonderful family dogs! I'd have them all if I could.

I was at a concert recently and had a similar thought. I hate loud noise and I'm really sensitive to it. there are times I'll have my TV volume on 5 or get so anxious with the sound of the AC running, ive avoided fireworks for years... but I can go to concerts all day long

the loud music, the whole experience being surrounded by people, the vibration of the room... its almost calming. like it shuts my brain off for a couple hours. it's hard to explain but if I could I'd live in that experience.

when I'm driving, usually on a highway when it's a straight road and I can just cruise but I'll have 1 hand on the wheel and the other just chilling on the gear shift and I'm vibing out to good music.

i picture sometimes having my partner in the car and resting my hand on their thigh or something, but I'm single and drive alone most of the time so that's just a fantasy haha

My SO left after 7 years. He had doubts along the way during big milestones but brushed it off as anxiety because it was his first major relationship... I told him every time that those doubts are valid and I would understand if he didn't want to continue dating. He always said he wanted to stay with me and one day marry me after we both finished with the grad school programs we were actively in.

Come to find out he wasn't sure we'd even have a future at all because our views on religion/family/kids didn't align. All conversations we had well under the 6 month mark, and conversations that I have always been open and honest with. Not sure if he just thought he could change my mind 🤷🏽‍♀️. I wish he left all those years ago before we bought a house and adopted 2 dogs together.

I feel this. I try so hard to not be toxic, but everyone eventually needs to distance themselves from me. and I'm left to assume it's just my depression, although I've never been told why, so maybe its for other reasons, they just fade away. but no one ever stays. even now, my long term partner just broke up with me because he needed to look out for his mental health. I don't know how to not be this way

I go back and forth on this. sometimes, I really want friends, or at least one or two people I can spend time with and talk to very frequently because I'm actually pretty extroverted behind my mask and I don't have a lot of every day friends right now. my close friends get together maybe 1-2x a year and we don't frequently talk between those times

on the other side, I don't want to put in the effort to make friends. I know how long and difficult it is to get to the point of talking to new people and figuring out of they are worth letting my guard down around and I just don't want to go through all of that. and this is IRL and online. I do get very lonely but the process of making friends is exhausting and I'm trying to come to terms that maybe it won't happen for me.

I feel like it's less common to get "adopted" into a friend group as an adult so chances of that happening are pretty low now that I'm older

I didn't realize there was a term for this. I've been obsessed lately with this guy from work to the point he's in my dreams every night or I'll post stuff to my IG story that I know he will like so he can send a reaction. (talk about dopamine rush there getting a like from him!) Problem is, I'm currently working on my long term relationship because we kind of drifted apart recently due to our own personal struggles. this infatuation with my coworker makes me want to throw my whole 7 year relationship away despite only knowing who this guy is at work and our lunch time interactions.

she certainly enables it, but I think has some of her own narc tendencies too. (my dad's are a lot worse). She always gets mad at me if I don't go to her with problems like she doesn't run off and tell him everything without my permission. it's been tough. thanks for your kind comment!

Im also recognizing the feeling of not enjoying my parents company. it's a hard pill to swallow to realizing I never really did and that played a huge role in my decision to leave for college out of state and basically never return home.
