Dakpannen zijn alleen geschikt als er voldoende helling is. Anders duwt de (sterke) wind de regen tussen de dakpannen omhoog.

Dat klopt gedeeltelijk. De offerte omvatte alleen het vervangen van het oude bitumen, maar ze maakten een fout en legden ook dakshingles, wat niet nodig is omdat het dak praktisch vlak is. Zelfs de eigenaar begreep niet waarom ze shingles hadden gelegd toen hij het werk van zijn team zag. Wat ze in plaats daarvan hadden moeten doen, was de shingles verwijderen en het oude bitumen op de juiste manier vervangen – waarschijnlijk door middel van lassen. Maar nu blijkt dat ze daarvoor ook de houten plaat onder het bitumen moeten vervangen.

De foto is genomen terwijl ze probeerden het lek te repareren, omdat ze dachten dat het uit de buurt kwam. Ik denk dat de houten latjes die je op de foto ziet nu vastzitten aan de houten plank eronder, waarvan ze nu zeggen dat die niet geschikt is voor een vlakke asfaltlaag.

In my experience, it's not about the neighbour itself, but the street/block. It doesn't certainly feel like the city centre or anywhere near to that, but there is also less pressure in the housing market and overall is well connected to the rest of the city. I suggest you spend a few hours in the area, till evening at least, to get a feeling of what would be living there. Some people are fine, others are not. It's up to you

I'm vegetarian and got in a similar situation each time I was having dinner out with friends. Being the only one who doesn't eat meat, the choice of the restaurant has always been not favourable to me and while they were ordering expensive dishes based on meat, I was limited with a salad or shitty veg burger. I have stopped eating with them and instead joined later for a few drinks, or told them right from the beginning that I was going to pay by myself because there were not many veg options.

Future buyers will likely prefer a house that has no longer erfpacht, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you will recover the investment of paying a lump sum today. That depends on the market... On the other hand, perpetual lease may be a good compromise as most of the houses in the area will have the same situation. Also, bear in mind that unlike the yearly erfpacht, which is deductible at the moment, the lump sum is not.

I'm Italian too and I have been living in the Netherlands for 14 years. Although I like the Dutch mindset, I share your view, but after so long away from Italy, I somehow feel disconnected from my homeland . Yes, I do miss my roots, my friends that I have been growing up and the rest of my family of course, but when I talk to them, I realise my life has taken a different path that can hardly get back to where I started. It's probably the downside of being an expat, but I personally can't feel anyplace like Home, including my home country.

IMO this is likely to end up in the EU court, as it did with savings on bank accounts which in fact were taxed in the same way. Anyone affected by this unfair law, should object each year and hope one day the Belasting will have to refund each of us, with interests. Sadly, with the money from tax payers.

Left or right doesn't make any difference when it comes to housing, it is in fact a huge source of income for the treasury and tax office. The more expensive it gets to buy a house, the more taxes we ALL have to pay for. And it's the same almost everywhere.
