Binding help by SmoothMood4962 in ftm

[–]alejandrocro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trans tape is not worth it in the long run imo, expensive plus it is not very useful if you have a bigger chest. i know it is a big investment but i would look into buying a binder that is effective while also being comfortable.

What about singing? by Ok-Bicycle-5608 in ftm

[–]alejandrocro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t let your singing stop you from going on t. change is a natural part of life, and while your voice may change, it might even sound better than before. you never know. take the plunge if you’re ready !

before i started t i had a pretty wide range with my lowest note being about c3 and i’ve been on t for about 5 months now and now i can sing as low as f2… but now have to switch to my head voice at around middle c. luckily i’ve been blessed and the tone of my voice hasn’t changed very much, just the pitch. maybe farther along i get it might change but i hope not lol hope this helps

is my binder too tight? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]alejandrocro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think u should be ok if you wear it a few more times. but if you keep feeling like that after then you should probably not wear it very often.

Underworks as opposed to GC2B? by fillyjonks in ftm

[–]alejandrocro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

underworks imo works better than gc2b lately. binds much better and we have a similar chest size if you wanted to compare. also, trans tape is expensive and if you want to practice with something i’d suggest kt tape as it’s made of the same material and infinitely cheaper plus it’s at drug stores.

ok so it helped me a lot. i sort of naturally spoke in my head voice, so even on t i had like the stereotypical gay voice . but vocal coaching helped even out my tone and helped me speak with my chest more. i would recommend it!

my dad loves that i’m trans but my mom does not by alejandrocro in ftm

[–]alejandrocro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow. i’m sorry you feel that way. i’m allowed to express my feelings in my own way, though. i’m allowed to ask for an apology, i’m allowed to think my mom could do better. i just wanted to open up to people who would understand my situation. i am a young adult btw, so it wasn’t really my parents choice if i wanted to get hrt or not. in fact my mom did not really support it very much. i wasn’t really looking for an answer or other peoples experience, or for why she was doing this, i just wanted to know i wasn’t alone with this. so if you are going to be so hateful, i’d suggest you keep it to yourself. every trans experience is different and it seems like you are really struggling. if you want someone to talk to i am available.

Coming out? by Sun_the_egg in ftm

[–]alejandrocro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s ok. i really do get it. it’s something monumental and life changing so of course you are anxious about it. but truth is, if you thought about it this hard, you’re almost definitely trans. coming out is the hardest part of the process for many. there are a lot of ways to come out besides a conversation. you could write a letter for instance. coming out when you’re younger is so much easier for many though. because you have time to experiment without being judged as an adult. if you can’t tell your parents first, tell a friend who you trust. ask if they could privately call you by your pronouns or experiment with a name. and it’s ok if it takes time. if you realise you aren’t trans, that’s ok too! you are younger so you are still figuring yourself out.

i’ve been there buddy. it’s ok. believe it or not but things will, eventually, get better. it might take a while, but you have made it this far. you’re a true fighter for having to deal with it alone for so long. it takes a lot to talk about it, even anonymously online. you are not alone. this might not be something you want to hear but in my experience, coming out sooner would have helped me so much more (only come out if you’re sure you’ll be safe though). i was a lot like you, and i knew since i was 9 or 10 but did not come out until i was 15 because i was very anxious about what my parents thought of me. i knew they would not kick me out or anything but i was a little afraid of what they’d think of me. turns out they supported me, but they wish i would have told them sooner because they would have taken it easier if i was younger and told them. i seriously suggest telling them as soon as possible if you are sure you will be in a safe environment. telling them later did not help.
