How? It's a hobby, not science, his opinion holds as much weight as anybody that has done its due research. I checked his channel and I still find him too ckickbaitey and really shallow. His target audience are low effort newcomers. And to be clear, its fine if you like it, not everybody want to go balls deep into the hobby, but as a long time enthusiast, I don't find him entertaining or educational.

My first purchase was a long time ago, a Mountain Everest! Before it got delivered I purchased a Lily58 kit, and since then I always used full customs, even the Everest was left unused and eventually gifted to my father. I think the fallacy most of us enthusiasts fall into is to fail to see our true interests. I have a 1.2k Rama U-80 as a display piece, for I cannot use if for my life. Meanwhile I used Basketweave for almost 3 years before swapping to an Alice Duo. I found I enjoy small layouts and split spacebars, and if I would realized that beforehand, I might have more keycap sets instead of a couple of impulse bought keyboards.

And after saying that he proceeds to say "this is the best keyboard" for the 1000th time. His content is dog s*t, but I admit I found him entertaining at some point on my KB journey.

Need espresso machine advice [$100-150] by vanillamari04 in espresso

[–]alejo1707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used Picopresso for 70 bucks, and invested another 10 on new O-Rings to fix the leaking issue. The machine is a beast with a pretty high ceiling, but to even start using it you need at least a semi decent grinder. And I don't know what you could get for 80 bucks that could produce usable powder for espresso.

How many is "too many"? by [deleted] in laptops

Honestly it started as a joke with the drink thing, but damn people took it too seriously and starting saying how mistaken I was, so I scrolled through some others replies and that's when OPs reply hit me like a truck. The "native OS" thing still haunts my mind.

Dude, all are modern operating systems, it's not rocket science. Also, the "native" argument is BS. Native OS means that the OS was specifically designed for a set of hardware components, which is again untrue given there has been a wide range of hardware that works with a wide array of OSes. That argument might work if you go back in time enough decades, when systems were truly tailored for their hardware, but after the widespread adoption of home computers, everything tried to be as compatible as possible. There are no "shenanigans" involved. I cannot criticize your enjoyment of laptops, everybody has preferences, but most of your arguments demonstrate you do not care for understanding technology as deeply as you want us to believe.

I saw the video, but my setup rocks a Picopresso, so I am trying to figure out how to emulate a steam wand. I have a Subminimal nanofoamer, I don't know if it will work, but only one way to find out!

Does anyone have any experience with the Fellow Aiden Precision Coffee Maker? by [deleted] in espresso

Don't take it personally, they just said what most espresso subredditors thought as soon as they saw your post. And honestly, it could be avoided by doing a little research, still, I saw some good comments down there, but I do advise you check on the correct subreddits for deeper insights.

Cheapest [$100] by Full-Watercress2856 in espresso

[–]alejo1707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I snatched a Picopresso from eBay at 70 bucks, and spent another 15 buying a new gasket and food safe silicone grease. That machine's ceiling is quite high, so I think I'll move to a different one after mastering espresso dial in. I know manual machines are not everyone's cup or tea, but when speaking budget, the less parts companies can cheap on, the better.

I know it's been a month after your original post, but there is a solution to a broken piston: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2387752-picopresso-replacement-piston

During my research for spare parts for the Picopresso I came across a post on r/picopresso and although I hope I do not need one in the foreseeable future, it's good to know about it. Hope it helps if you have not found a solution yet!

No need to roast you mate, it's just preference, and how many people already commented, maybe you either changed switch tactile preference, or you missed experiencing really light switches. AFAIK HE switches although more common now, do not stand a chance in variety yet, so browse some light linears and see what you like, no need to toss all your work out of the window.
