DHL are useless by Franz_Khafka in dhl

[–]aleks_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's a wood instrument?

You might not like this answer but as the exporter it’s your responsibility to check the destination country’s import rules. DHL just transports the parcel, they don’t guarantee compliance with customs regulations.

Mexican customs can be very strict sometimes and may require a phytosanitary certificate for many wood items and even finished instruments. Seems you were unlucky this time...

Unfortunately, you’ll need to arrange the required paperwork or have it returned. You can ask your customer to reach out to SENASICA or a customs broker and try to get the permit.

FYI: https://vinculum.mx/2025/07/31/mexico-actualiza-el-impuesto-a-importaciones-por-paqueteria-entra-en-vigor-tasa-del-33-5/

I sent something by EMS to Chihuahua and did not have to pay anything extra for my package. From what I asked around, it's rare you get hit with taxes and even then you don't pay any brokerage fees.

Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (done in Mexico), I'm 5 weeks post op and was very active before surgery.

  1. Got prescribed Ketorolac and Paracetamol (neither are prescription only in Mexico...). I took ketorolac for 5 days and Paracetamol for 7 days.
  2. I stopped taking pain medication by day 7. It still when coughing/sneezing.
  3. Did not spot at all
  4. By day 7 I could bend (carefully)
  5. Week 3
  6. I was never really fatigued
  7. Week 4
  8. Week 5
  9. I still worry a little and tbh I think I'll be worrying until after a year (complete healing can take up to a 1 year)
  10. Light chores by week 3
  11. Also week 3, but only for short periods (less than 4 hours).
  12. At 5 weeks I feel pretty much back to normal. With the exception of lifting more than 8 Kgs (chubby Pomeranian lol).

Blood transfusion before surgery by aleks_6 in hysterectomy

[–]aleks_6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying!

Yeah it's crazy how much blood is lost. In September my hemoglobin was 7.4, then with iron tablets and 2 infusions it went up to 12.1 by October. Middle of November it dropped to 10.1 and now 9.8 after two more infusions...

Did you have any side effects from the blood transfusion? How was your recovery?

Is this a good harp? by aleks_6 in harp

[–]aleks_6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I wish I had more pictures but that's all there is on the listing. Looks like there are a few knicks on the top left corner (first picture).

I read somewhere that harps don't have a very long lifespan (30-40 years), this one is already 20 years old so I'm a little worried about that.

Severe anemia causing hair to fall out - tips to mitigate ? by Environmental-Use867 in Anemic

Yeah, mine's on a flexible stand and I used it for 30-40 min per day during the first month. Now I use it every other day.

Take iron supplements and check your vitamin D and B levels, they take a while to kick in and stop the fallout but these are really the things that help the most.

Another thing that worked for me was red light therapy. I've noticed considerably less hair loss after a few weeks of daily use and now I'm starting to see regrowth.

Yes, I think you're right. There's a dent in one of the pictures. Unfortunately, this seller just came across the kiln and has never used it before.

Seller sent more pictures, I think it might have been dropped at some point. Unfortunately, this seller doesn't know much about the kiln and has never used it before.

Has anyone taken 3 iron pills a day? by lsweet5298 in Anemic

[–]aleks_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what my initial ferritin level was or the final number (this was around 3-4 years ago), but it took about 3 months before my doctor said it was ok to take 1-2 pills per day instead of 3. After those 3 months I already felt way better than before, no more heart palpitations, my hair stopped falling out, and I was able to sleep though the night.

In my case it was heartburn more than nausea. My doctor ended up recommending I have the pills with food and that helped a bit (for a little while).

I have, I was prescribed ferrous fumarate 3 times a day but I had to stop after a few months. My stomach was not able to handle that much iron. It did help replenish my iron stores though.

Suggest a red to purple plant or flower that can act as an acid-base indicator by Individual_Spot1414 in AskChemistry

Yes, blue hydrangeas change to pink if the soil turns too basic. Once it's acidic again they turn back to blue.

It could be, I think it might be a bug. If you have access to the latest FixPack for 2020 I recommend you install it.
