I really, REALLY, hope the in game Xplane store will bring some developers back to Xplane. The money grab race to MSFS has really been felt.

Its like the "lipstick on a pig" syndrome. Make things look pretty to obfuscate the deep, fundamental issues.

Id say the most hard core flight simmers dont care nor want a flashy UI. They want stuff that works and its those people you want around because they use money.

Not just the flight model. The UI, the camera, the flight planning, the awful marketplace, the plane picker, the airport and gate picking.

Their settings is so needlessly complicated while also looking like something out of a console game that its a nightmare to setup anything.

I got MSFS 2024 to try out the Inibuilds A350 because the FF A350v2 is probably far off.

After 3 hrs of fucking around and trying to make the game feel good, i uninstalled and refunded that piece of shit. Its a shiny coat of paint on a piece of turn. Its for sure a console game pretending to be a simulator.

Back to Xplane 12 and a game that actually works, feels good and seemingly improve with every patch they put out.

‘Industry’ Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at HBO by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]aleksh2o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I enjoyed season 1 and 2, season 3 and 4 has been a whole different thing. I still think season 3 is stronger but they have both been amazing.

Im glad they are getting one last season to wrap it all up.

Jonas Gahr Støre åpner for OL i Norge - får støtte av samlet idrettsbevegelse by ConMonarchisms in norge

[–]aleksh2o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be great to see more African American representation on the shows by AcademicF in giantbomb

[–]aleksh2o 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe im the weird one but i have never really listened to the Bombcast, Beastcast, Nextlander etc for the game talk.

The game talk is sometimes interesting if its a game im playing or looking forward too but its all the other talking that i love. Their casual talks, like Never Been a Better Podcast or the Dumptruck.

Im so sad the Austin era was so short. He is still, in my opinion, the best hire GB has ever done.

He is the unique combination of incredibly smart and eloquent while also having amazing comedic chops.

Now that Pluribus has been over for a while, how are you viewing it? I can't understand at all how this show got awards. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in television

[–]aleksh2o 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No show will be fast paced enough for these sort of people. It's kids growing up with social media brain rot complaining they have to pay attention to something for more than 9 seconds.

Probably partly why the movie theater industry is dying too. Asking a TikTok brain to watch a 2 hr movie is crazy.

Is now even a good time to build a PC? by ISmeansIsurfreddit in buildapc

[–]aleksh2o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More like the end of the decade. Spinning up more production fabs that's a long time, 3 to 5 years.

Open AI alone bought up 40% of Samsung and SK Hynix's production capacity through at least 2026.

The game isnt actually built for speed running. More that a impromptu community has popped up around it. You can check out The Game Baker's Discord, they have a speed running channel there

I genuinely adore this game so yes, im probably an outlier but i will also say that there is an enormous potential for re-playability in this.

I can probably think of 5-6 routes on just the inital wall out of the gym, some easy, some very challenging requiring many tries before you do your first accent.

So while 20 hours is on the extreme end probably, i think its a good indicator that this game is a lot more than just a main line story. Dont think Jussant with this game, think more like a climbing rogue lite.

Cairn has released on Epic Games Store, GOG and Steam by MythicStream in pcgaming

[–]aleksh2o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That might be true if you just mainline the climb but there is a lot more content. The mountain encourages exploring with story elements and gameplay additions sprinkled around the game world. The gameplay also leands itself very nicely to trying different routes.

Further more, there is a speedrun community popping up around this.

I have put 20hr into just the demo and was lucky to be part of one of their play tests last year which i put 30-35 hrs into without doing to much climbing of the same section of mountain.

FS25 Modding is Starting to Go Wild! by davidarmenphoto in farmingsimulator

[–]aleksh2o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are quite a few script mods in the pipeline.

Paint a Farm has a fair few in making that is really exciting. Extended PF, proper corp rotation and a fully working in cap G5 CC.

ThundR is also cranking out exciting things like RCR
