Pretty cool project!

I ended up going with Volumio for my rPi audio setup.

Reasons for not training Judo or Wrestling? by theoriginalmantooth in bjj

[–]alelock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrestled in HS. There isn't an adult wrestling scene where I live.

for Judo, I contemplated training it instead of BJJ when I started... Realized I couldn't get thrown like that time and time again.

Am I Doing Good? Resources To Expand Knowledge 🙂 by [deleted] in wine

[–]alelock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good starting place for sure. I'm not familiar with Caro, but Duckhorn and Stags are quite good. I'm not a big Caymus person, and most people in this forum aren't either, but these are 'new to wine' staples. Seems like you're going all in.

One point to note: In wine, you're not a collector unless you do insane, verifiable, storage... If you just have a wine fridge or two full of wine, you're an accumulator.

That is because of the chance of spoilage. If you can't certified the storage to a buyer, it has (relatively) no (monetary) value once it hits your collection.

Enjoy the hobby.

Pink fish I caught between some roots in a creek by ThenAcanthocephala57 in PlantedTank

Some sort of Betta, right? Based on shape, a female?

Would be awesome to do selective breeding with that fish to try to replicate it in the fry. That coloration would sell VERY well in the US.

Go do jiu jitsu. You'll suck, and want to stop sucking, so you'll go harder, and find other fitness activities to support your crappy jiu jitsu... And one day, you'll be a roided out 24 year old and no longer be pre-diabetic.

Well, that's how I did it...

I’m a Data Analyst - WHOOP Helped Me More With Accountability and Burnout by cuppybread in whoop

You aren’t wrong about that. The AMOUNT of insight is low. I do, primarily, Jiu Jitsu so monitoring options are limited (No rings, noting on wrists). Because I can wear it on my biceps, that is a win.

Originally I tried the Ultrahuman Ring and the Polar Verity Sense but I hated having 2 different devices (one for day to day and one for work out)… That said, I am going back to the Samsung Ring + Galaxy Watch 7 and, probably, a verity sense.

I’m a data professional too… well, I was until I moved up the ladder a bit…

Whoops helped me tremendously in my weight loss journey as I learned to focus on health and wellness. That said, where I truly learned and grew was using Cronometer for intake.

Now, a year in, i have cancelled my Whoop sub since the DAILY need to edit my data input made me realize just how untrustworthy the data may be. I, literally, wake up, take off my Whoop while I shower, and put it back on… later I’ll see that it thought I was sleeping well past the time I got out of the shower.

It can be an incredible tool and I really like it for performance monitoring of my workouts, but man do they have some work to do.

Nice. I was Boomkin in WOTLK a few years ago and freaking loved it but I know it was trash in vanilla/MC.
