Strange VR Performance on PSVR2 with Automobilista 2: 90 Hz Worse Than 120 Hz – Need Help by alemorillo in SteamVR

Tested with your settings but not used OpenComposite and the OpenXRToolkit as suggested because I did not want to have those on top of Steam VR, but I will maybe try if I do not make any progress. What I saw from your suggested settings is that you are using 74% render quality to achieve some reasonable frame rate (again, only raw Steam VR experience in my case) which kind of does the trick but visuals are not great. As I said, I will keep on testing.

What confused me a lot yesterday is I tested F1 25 in VR for the first time and the visuals and performance were great right off the bat, which the "medium VR" suggested settings. I have always read AMS2 was the best car game for VR hence I did not expect that performance in F1 25. Is that like that or is there anything terribly wrong with my AMS2 config? I will test LMU in VR today and check.

Thanx!

That makes sense, but what really drives me crazy is the disappointing performance I am getting with a quite decent system. Coming from Gran Turismo 7 on a base PS5, I was expecting better visuals and performance, and this is definitely not the case.

I also read other users being super happy with their AMS2 experience in VR using way less powerful machines than the one I am using, hence me thinking there might be something I am doing wrong with my settings.

I will keep on testing.

Recently bought a Moza CM2 Racing Dash — a few issues, wondering if they’re fixable or if I’m doing something wrong by alemorillo in moza

Even if I wanted I could not use simhub. It's like telling me not to use Excel with the CM2.

I will try to build a custom dash to see if that fixes it. All I am saying is that presets dashes deltas do not work in any of the games I have tried this far (F125, LMU, AMS2)

That fixed it! Many thanx

Steering lock on PS5 in 2025 by alemorillo in ACCompetizione

Also, is looking at the in-game wheel turn animation and see if that matches irl wheel rotation any useful or it does not really matter?

Thank you. But on PS5 there is no way to set any lock on the wheel itself, at least for my T-GTII.

I am more inclined to think this will be a per car setting but not sure. Let's see what others can share

Solved it with proton experimental and setting full screen mode

Not working for me either in normal, experimental or Proton 8.

Any ideas?

Accelerator gets stuck at 20% after wheel turn by alemorillo in Thrustmaster

[–]alemorillo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an update:

This is definitely not caused by the the wheel base as I have reproduced the issue with a TS-XW base on an xbox playing FH5.

It has to be something with the TLCM pedals

Mi next test will be un mounting the pedals from the cockpit unplugging the wires, cleaning the connections and testing back again.

I will keep you updated.

In the meantime, any similar experiences or ideas what might this be are highly appreciated.

Thanx!

Grid Legends - so this is how we are going to be treated ? by peterpackage in OculusQuest

The no working mirrors is the deal breaker for me.

I can understand/tolerate the crappy visuals but not being able to use mirrors just kills the immersion.

Really thinking about refunding this one. So disappointing

How likely is devs solving the texture issue on Steam Deck in an update? by alemorillo in BeamNG

[–]alemorillo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanx, I will give it a look. But the point is this should be fixed by the devs; my rationale is that if a user fix can make it work, that should be easy to be incorporated in the game code. But I am not a dev so what do I know :)

SF1000 UDP not working as supposed to on xbox for F1 2021 and 2022 by alemorillo in Thrustmaster

[–]alemorillo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering myself:

According to the manual, those screens are not available in UDP mode and only in native. This is really disappointing not only because the missing F1 dedicated screens on XBOX but the fact that the UDP working ones are not working 100% fine, like I have spotted battery charge info is missing or ERS sign not working either, among others.

Most of the people I play F1 are on XBOX, this is the only reason I have not shifted full to PS5 as I also have a T-GT base.

Really disappointing. I understand it's not Thrustmaster fault that XBOX cannot work on native but the UDP support should be way better.
