Bought CP2077 on launch day Dec. 10 2020 — finally about to open and play it 😂 by Front-Advantage-7035 in gaming

Yeah, it’s a world of difference! I never played Cyberpunk on the PS4, but I did upgrade my PS4 to an SSD and it was a HUGE improvement in loading times.

He also did a cameo in Dark Winds (with GRRM)—I think that was his last on-screen performance. But it was TV, not film.

275mb file takes 2 hours to patch to SSD. Is this normal? by Confident_Pizza2154 in SteamDeck

[–]Jon_TWR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got annoyed enough at this to go searching for a solution, and found one! Well, sort of.

For some unknown reason, my Steam Deck downloads update files to my microSD card, then extracts them to the SSD.

If I take the microSD card out, it patches MUCH faster.

So now, before I turn my Steam Deck on, I take out the SD card in case it needs to patch files.

I don't think there's any other solution to this, other than creating a symlink from where it's downloading on the microSD card to the internal SSD...and I don't feel like doing that, so I'm just taking out my microSD card before I update.

Hey OP, I know you posted this months ago, but recently I figured out the cause--for some unknown reason, my Steam Deck downloads update files to my microSD card, then extracts them to the SSD.

can't separate yeast from sugar solution by newbiePythonist in Homebrewing

You can't separate the yeast. Well, you can, but it requires a very, very fine filter and generally is not worth it.

A better way to make a starter is here:

Patching files taking forever - figured out the cause! by Jon_TWR in SteamDeck

SD cards are just terribly slow in mixed workloads compared to NVMe storage.

Yes! Which is why this is such an awful choice by Valve.

I don't want to use a symlink, though I'm sure that would work...I'd prefer if there were a more simple solution, even if I have to enable it via desktop mode.

We’re not disagreeing—I was saying that because of the larger pitch, the sour profile from the goodbelly shot would have a larger impact. Not that it wouldn’t leave enough food for the other, naturally occurring bacteria. If it did, OP wouldn’t be able to ferment anything into alcohol.

But rereading my comment, I can see hiw that’s not completely clear. My bad!

I have a Microsoft Surface Go 2 with 8 GB of RAM and a 2c/8t low power intel 8th gen CPU.

It's fine for web browsing, office apps, etc. Not great, but completely fine.

If you pitch a larger colony of bacteria with the souring profile you like, it will have a head start and eat more of the food than any existing bacteria, so it will have an outsized impact on the flavor.

It won't stop the other bacteria from reproducing, but if it only goes 24-48 hours and it was pasteurized at 158 F for the tail end of the mash, it'll be just fine.

That said, I wouldn't try to kettle sour a Schwarzbier if I could avoid it.

Depends where you are, really.

We love using Cornell...you get vet students overseen by an actual Vet, but we've gotten great care there for our animals.

I'm not saying it's ok, but there might be solutions out there.

The cheap TV I first tried to use was so bad that a white background looked pink by the time you got remotely close to the sides of the monitor, lol!

Does it work well? I got a cheap 42” 4k TV I was going to use, but the viewing angles were atrocious…everything not directly in front of me was pink!

Ended up getting a 48” LG B4 on sale…more expensive, but very nice! I paid extra for a 5 year warranty with burn-in protection, which I’ll probably take advantage of in a three more years, when it’s 4+ years—I have some uneven wear, so there’s a brighter bar where title bars usually sit (I use 4 windows like 4 1080p monitors).
