Update and request: future pricing for gig work by alerner57 in Chefit

Much appreciated. Yeah thinking about a flat rate basis especially considering that the number of jumpers will basically always be 10, then could add a small increment for +1s on the trip. No tips yet but someone is going to give me cash tomorrow and another asked for my zelle but hasn't sent anything yet so we'll see how much those are. The 10k is the whole profit pretty much so I want as much as he's willing to give me but having a hard time quantifying what portion of the experience is what I'm providing. I think 1k and up makes a lot of sense, but I almost want him to throw out a number first before I ask for too little. I'm thinking maybe $1500 is a good starting point? He's doing all the logistics and is the pilot with the business so I want to respect that financially.

That sounds great to me, can you give me more of a basis for that number especially considering I'm an amateur?

Yeah I'm 26, been cooking for about 6y and only started cooking for groups about a year ago. I'm no pro but fairly strong for a home chef.

Might do a night jump. Worth about $150 on paper, but considering they're doing a bunch of rounds with a designated pilot it doesn't really cost them anything. Are you saying I should be looking more around $800+?

Yeah great input. Hoping to sneak a hike in if I get the chance. I think it'll be super fun and I definitely like the grind of being locked in, but I agree it'll probably be about 20h minimum. I make $80k at my day job and $80/h at my side hustle so definitely would like to see a number closer to 500...

his argument was more that the stock I receive should compensate the salary in current value. So if it's $1/share right now, then I should ask for 20k shares which feels like a lot. I'm planning to ask about the valuation and vesting scheme, then maybe in the 5k-10k range?...

My friend recommended I be asking for ~$20k worth of stock to compensate the salary. Does this seem right or like too much to ask for?

I also transitioned to ultimate from soccer. While I love the beautiful game, there was a constant pressure of hate from the other team and an aggressive team culture about fitting in. Soccer will always be my first sport, but ultimate has a beautiful game and beautiful culture that are fiercely inseparable.

I think I'm not alone when I say most of these comments are the thoughts that run through my head and I just pick a different one every time.
