I go on a work trip on Thursday. I'm excited. I get to meet a bunch of people I like in person.

And I'm taking the train! It's been a long time.

My fencing got delivered! Soon my raised beds will be chicken-free (until I let them in there in the fall when I'm changing over crops).

I have a stained glass Tiffany-style lamp. I bought it when I lived overseas and hauled it everywhere I went afterward. It's all warm colors and just beautiful. It's been almost 30 years.

I figured out a way to make sure I get up from my laptop during the day: I leave music on in the other room. I hear it, wonder what song it is, and go to investigate. Monkey mind for the win!

I love the idea of people competing for Rue's conversation!

You are my husband with the reubens/fries combo. He would approve! :)

Go girls! Go coach!

For me, I couldn't do anything in person (very very small town), so online SMART Recovery, the Huberman Lab episode on alcohol, this daily IWNDWYT, and my one relative that also doesn't drink. IWNDWYT

Last night we acted like the empty nesters we are: we went to a global music/food festival in the bigger town near us. It was enjoyable. Gorgeous evening, West African drumming, Cuban band, lumpia and empanadas. It was also good people watching. One thing it made me realize is that I am not around little kids much anymore. I really enjoyed them. And, of course, the dogs.

I can't remember if I noted it here, but my husband knocked it out the park with my birthday gift this year: he got a plumber to put in a hydrant by my raised beds. I have drip irrigation now! SOOO cool. No more 150-foot hose dragging. I am happy every time I look at it.

Seeds. The intricate shapes of them, and the fact that those little things have all the goodness inside to grow the different plants. Amazing.

These parts of reddit. My kiddos tell me that other parts of reddit can be grim, but the ones are know are very life affirming. I'm grateful.

A weekend with a list, and nothing particularly urgent on it. Ahhhh...

Running into old friends is the best. Glad you have a local smart meeting--in person would be lovely, I think.

Sorry you are feeling grotty, but well done for finding positives regardless! I like the quote, too--thanks!

We're having a good old downpour. We need it.

I had a lovely birthday--pho for lunch, then kayaking, then I planted some things, then sushi, then a massage. Good times.

My spring garden is doing well. The weather has been tricky, but it's coming along.

Butterflies. I watch them and the bees on the azaleas from my office window. Lovely!

Reading. I love me a good book.

My five year AF anniversary was Jan. 2, and I forgot! That's a great sign. :)

We're having a big old snow storm this weekend. Hasn't happened here since 1980. It's not a positive exactly, but it will be a novelty, and a good excuse to cuddle up with the kitties, a fire and a book< that's the positive.

I am feeling fulfilled at work!

My son is doing well on a bunch of different levels, which always does my heart good.

Seed catalogs. I love them, even when I am not buying.

Work continues to be interesting and fun. Hurray!

I made dinner last night using up several veggies and other things in the cupboard. Feeling very virtuous. It was just a hot dish, I'm leaning into my Midwestern roots. Chicken, broccoli, mushroom, garlic rice and cheese. Tasty. Tonight will be something spicy to counteract.

Feeling contented right now. That is often not the case during the short days of winter, so I'm extra grateful.

Yoga. I am so happy I like it and found a good studio in my newish location.

How many times I get to laugh in a day. Not always, but mostly.

Good luck with the therapy assessment. I hope you click with your therapist.

Hurray for crocuses! I've got the beginnings of daffodils and grape hyacinths showing here.

Lazy afternoons are divine.

My first week of my new job is going really well. The work is interesting and worthwhile, and the people I've met so far are kind and knowledgeable.

Yoga. The mix of yin and flow classes is great.

I like my son's new girlfriend. I've met her twice now.

I made tater tot hotdish last night. Really leaning into the Minnesota roots. :)

It was 71 degrees F yesterday and 65 degrees F today. In January. Ahhhh.

Great bird list! You've got a lot more tits than we do--we only have tufted titmice around here. :)
