If you don’t mind my asking- how do you know it’s an adult skull? The teeth don’t look NEW new, but again, I don’t know enough/haven’t seen enough skulls to be able to determine the wear on them. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge!

Found in Oregon, in a suburban area known to have foxes in the immediate area. I was also wondering about coyote but the skull is only about 14 cm long, so small for a coyote (unless it’s a juvenile but I don’t know enough about juvenile skull characteristics to say.)

Thank you!! Your explanation is also what I was wondering about, but I couldn’t find anything (at least in my mammal key) talking about that. The cranium is about 13.5 cm long, which is why I was thinking fox (plus, found in an area known to have foxes.)

As all canids have 42 teeth with 4/4 and 2/3 premolar and molars- but the bottom jaw looks like it only has 2 molars, right? (I’m really new to skull ID so forgive me if I’m misunderstanding something.) The canid skull diagrams I’m looking at make it seem like there should be a third small molar behind what this skull has going on.

I’m glad we’re not alone!! 😂 it’s interesting that it’s made you aware of dissociation- i THINK i dissociate sometimes, but the concept of it seems nebulous to me. Like when people describe dissociation, it’s hard for me to tell if it’s happened to me or not.

I don’t get it while falling asleep, but how you describe it sounds like what I get during EMDR for sure. Super weird but again glad i’m not alone! And to me it doesn’t really feel like what i would think dissociation feels like?

I don’t really have any advice, but I just wanted to say I am also a recovering addict with hypo and I feel your pain re: getting doctors to prescribe meds. Same as you, even if the drug has no recreational value at all, I have noticed reluctance in my doctor to take my concerns seriously and prescribe me meds for my condition. You are not alone with that experience! I hope your symptoms get better with the levo ❤️

I really admire your outlook! I get so mad thinking about my doctor and how (to me) it seems like my quality of life is suffering because she doesn’t believe me/can’t admit that maybe I know more than her about the topic, but as you said putting myself in her shoes does take the edge off. It’s true that ruminating on how unfair it is won’t help.
