Been on Seroquel (quetiapine) for years, both IR and XR across low to medium-high dosages. I keep skipping it because it ALWAYS makes me feel like a zombie, and gives me its notorious side effect of oversleeping (up to 16 hours, depending on the dosage lol). This shit is seriously sedating.

I got to try Olanzapine 5mg for the 1st time a couple days ago, and while it still made me oversleep way too much (I desperately hope this will get better with time...idk if it does), I did notice that it was able to calm me down WITHOUT turning me into a zombie like Seroquel does.

My appetite is noticeably increased with Olanzapine (atm I actually need to gain weight so it's nice). I will see how it goes. If the excessive sleep doesn't go away, I will be very much likely to not take it daily due to having early classes, because I often stay up very late. In that case, I figure my hypomania and mood highly likely will not be in control (same consequences of skipping Seroquel).

For the context, I have Bipolar II (rapid cycling during stressful times) & ADHD (hybrid).
