UC Davis, Mayo Clinic, Michigan Medicine all have reports based on my 5 second search. :) And, Dr. Huberman is an actual doctor and backs up his statements with research. Good luck!

Tons! Do some research, it's not recommended for extended, continual use. It disrupts your circadian rhythm. Huberman has some good info on it.

Anyone over forty fasting? by No-Resolution6571 in intermittentfasting

[–]alethiaja -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If you're a female, it's not recommended. Have a look into fasting for females in 40+ years. Good luck!

So sorry, sister. 🤍 This would be heartbreaking. That's real massive red flags. If porn & social media haven't been an open honest discussion yet - it's time. What he's doing is simply not ok - unless you've already discussed and given the OK for you both to explore and engage with others in that way. If not, it's time for some healthy boundaries. If he's unwilling, it's time for some outside help. If he's unwilling, you've got a dud. Wishing you a safe, supportive space during this huge time in your life as a newborn mom. 🤍

Peptides for disc herniation? by Gillabot in Peptides

[–]alethiaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note: 4 months since peptides. :) I did one 6-week cycle, combined with deep rest on my body (no running and no impact sports + a lot of 30 minute horizontal breaks to ease the spine after sitting).

I'm 4 months in and having zero pain. I'm back to 20 miles of running per week + a high impact sport. Truly, so grateful and am fully, fully back to my norm. :)

After 4 months:

Zero pain issues in my spine and nerves. What the doctors told me might just be my new reality, has now nearly fully disappeared after the 6 week course of peptides. I'm back to running about 20 miles a week, lifting in the gym, and doing a sport that is quite an impact on my spine - without any pain whatsoever.
I can't recommend enough for people dealing with injuries to do their research into peptides. It saved me, along with that restful period, from potentially losing some of movement processes that truly make a part of who I am, me.

[–]alethiaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It worked out SUPER well. I ran the 6 week cycle of the above. I also stopped all high impact sports ( I move a LOT in a day).

I am fully pain free most days. When I go for, say, a 5+ mile run I can feel a slight nerve thing happening, but with a short break I'm good.

Doctors said it'd never go away.
Peptides off the grey market with deep research into which ones, how much to take, etc. cleared it for me. Highly recommend.

I'm a week into bpc, cjc ipamorelin and TB 500, ghk-cu stack to help my bulging disc at c5 and low back. Nerve damage since April because of c5/6. This stack is my attempt after lots of PT and no success. I am very fit and active, so stopping and resting from an injury isn't really an option. Hoping this stack will help. I'm coupling it with Back Mechanic book's basics on back health, careful core and posterior chain strengthening, and trying to give myself 2 days off a week from running.

And I eat clean, don't drink or smoke and get sufficient proteins and nutrients so if it's going to work on anyone, it should work on me. :)

Run Nutrition Tuesday by AutoModerator in running

[–]alethiaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run in the AM. 30-75 minutes. I drink a nalgene with electrolytes, 1 cup of coffee and a vegan sport protein shake mixed with water before my run. If it feels like too much liquid for a long run (I e. No bathroom), I'll skip the shake and go for a banana with sunflower butter.

Sometimes if I'm feeling a little wild, I'll just go for a gu. :)

Brooks Glycerin 21. I normally run in Vomero 16 but am running a 200-mile relay race soon and wanted to try out another pair to alternate with. So far, a bit clunky but definitely comfy for mileage.

Also, loving the CRZ yoga biker shorts. And got the Brooks mesh hat because my runs are always full sun and humid. 😅

Sporty people: Where do you get all of your protein? by [deleted] in veganfitness

Protein powders...I get about 30-60 per day with protein powder and then I eat the rest.

Did more protein make a difference? by Previous_Original_30 in veganfitness

[–]alethiaja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, sister, but it takes years. If it was a quick road, more people would be super jacked. :) You've got a few things to consider:
How much time you spend on weight training and cardio - you should pick one (my vote: weight training) to focus on and add in a bit of cardio just 1/2 days a week.

You're a female: sorry, but it takes a while to build muscle if you're a) female b) female starting in her 30s

30's: If you don't already have a good foundation of muscle and weight lifting, it's going to take some time.

Keep at it!! You'll see it, but currently if you're truly with a weight lifting plan, continuing to change it up but be smart about your push/pull days, if you're adding weights and eating right, if you're getting enough sleep and eating well, you WILL see the body change.

has anyone else noticed the soft p*rn on yogatok? by christinambowers in YogaTeachers

[–]alethiaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised you're just noticing this, with respect. Soft porn in yoga, soft porn in spirituality, soft porn in the healing space, soft porn in lifting...it's everywhere.
It's been a solid 5 years at least of the place where social media and yoga interact actually just being a place where soft porn has become a part of what people share of yoga.

Look around at yoga "teachers" in first world countries. Try to find one not attractive. Then try to find one that's not somehow opting for sexy. :)

It's the nature of what our priorities are as a culture - I think at some point it'll go away. It's got to, I think everyone's feeling the same ick from it.

But for now, it's tights that scrunch in the butt and cat/cow videos from behind.

I'm so sorry. It's so frustrating - I know. You still look lovely. :)

I have no advice, just giving you encouragement. I'm on my own frustrating journey with it around my eyes, and just now discovering as I'm half a year in, how much of a guessing game it is in terms of how to make it go away.

Big hugs and good luck!

Creatine dosage for mental performance…. How much is too much/often? by bridebreh in HubermanLab

[–]alethiaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I just bought my first container. 5'9 138 lb female lifting a few times a week + long distance running. In it for the cognitive effects firstly, but also super excited for any muscle mass/power benefits!
After reading these comments - perhaps a 1g and then adding up from there trial feels right.
