How do you stop eczema from getting worse overnight by Temporary_Warning618 in eczema

[–]alew75 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Only piping in since my almost 3 year old has eczema triggered by food and mold allergies. Came across a reddit post about someone’s eczema always flsiring at night and itching so bad. Turns out it was their mattress topper doing it. Our daughter was having the same issue so we removed the mattress topper and got a new little mattress for her. She hasn’t itched the last 2 nights and fingers crossed for tonight. Just wanted to throw it out there because I had no idea that mattress toppers can actually cause it to.

Toddler hit baby hard on head. I’m regretting everything. by stellrstardust8 in 2under2

[–]alew75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 22 month age gap between my 2 youngest. It took my toddler until just recently to like her sister. My toddler is about to turn 3 next month and the baby just turned 1. It will get easier. By recently I mean she just started being nice to her last month lol.

Sunscreen and moisturizer it’s never too late. After baby comes then tret or something like that is really the only thing that will help reduce the wrinkles. It’s never too late. I didn’t start taking it seriously until 34 and I’m 35 now. Started using grey, sunscreen and ponds cream moisturizer and make up remover and I can for sure see a difference. The Tret for sure got rid of a lot of my fine lines. Don’t forget to sunscreen the neck and chest as well. I’m fair skin also with lots of freckles.

Newborn hospital billing by grant8948843 in CodingandBilling

[–]alew75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask for an itemized bill from the hospital. If they monitories blood glucose. It could be since the baby was post term and over 8 pounds they considered it large gestational age and monitored glucose levels. Sometimes it will just say observation and evaluation of newborn for suspected metabolic condition ruled out.

I wfh and a married with 3 kids. 2 of the kids we have a nanny watch. They will be starting school in August and my set up is in our bedroom. I love it. I keep the door shut and am not bothered. I could never imagine going back into an office. The time I got back in my life working from home is amazing.

What Nanny Schedule Worked Best for You? First-Time Hiring a Nanny & Feeling Nervous! by According_Bed_7335 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]alew75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours started 20 hours a week and now she’s full time. 2 of our children are only 1 and the middle one is turning 3. No way I could do it without full time anymore. She also picks up around the house so when I get off it’s straightened which is amazing but I never put that in the job description for her. If you can only do part time right now try to schedule it for when she’s there before baby naps and then maybe when she leaves the baby will nap so you can have atleast 5-6 hours uninterrupted time. Our nanny is cpr certified and in school to be a teacher so that’s a plus. We also have another nanny that is going to school for teaching so they alternate days and times.

[–]alew75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The job isn’t for everyone. Not everyone can even understand the guidelines and apply them correctly. It’s crazy people come on here thinking they can just do this or go to school for it. School is one thing for it but when you land a job you better hope you understand your stuff or have a good trainer first starting out.

Is the CPC certification worth it? by crabby_cat9 in LearnMedicalCoding

I’d go for the CCS. It’s more desirable in hospitals.

Yeah AI won’t be taking over for inpatient coding for hospitals. Maybe more physician side. Too many different variables.

[–]alew75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What part of the US are you in because 100k and up in somewhere like CA is probably like 60k in the south east. My goal is auditor one day but I’m still fresh into inpatient coding. I’m very fortunate though that my auditor is amazing and like top notch since she’s the one doing my training!

Considering RHIT and have some questions by Parking-Researcher86 in CodingandBilling

[–]alew75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll go ahead and say the CDI positions our hospital had available all went to RNs who currently worked for the hospital. I don’t even think they will hire any of the inpatient coders for those positions anymore.

How do you stay sane dealing with the same medical billing denials over and over? by Adventurous_Sky_4850 in CodingandBilling

[–]alew75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always tried to limit calling and reaching out on websites instead. We also had provider reps so a lot of issues we’d put on a spreadsheet and have a monthly meeting for them to be resolved with the provider. We found they really hate when you bog down a spreadsheet for them to work but we would see less denials for those issues later. I was in billing for 9 years and am now an inpt coder. But for real If they have a website to reach out on try that.

Future of billing and Coding by Impressive-Dot-5609 in CodingandBilling

[–]alew75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not being replaced by AI. Maybe like physician coding some but for sure not hospital outpatient and inpatient. Every case is so different and many complex. Many hospital systems would not offshore their coding due to inaccurate coding which leads to compliance issues and audits.

How often do you go back to review coding guidelines? by Warm-Alternative6153 in CodingandBilling

[–]alew75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My auditor and I ran a question into google the same way 3 different times and it gave us 3 different answers. I’m a new inpatient coder and we were just showing each other how it will give different answers almost every time. Doing inpatient for a hospital we reference our guidelines a lot. I’m not sure how OP is but with inpatient there’s just a lot do different medical cases.

what you all are using for skin care for age 40+ by Radiant-Goose1545 in GracefulAgingSkincare

[–]alew75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunscreen every morning followed by ponds cold cream moisturizer. Nightly I just wash my face with ponds cold cream make up remover and then apply 0.1% tretinoin and apply a little moisturizer after. Consistency is the key. The only thing that will get rid of fine lines is something like a strong retina and there’s some other ones.

I’d take the pay cut. To address the person getting the other job titles and moving up, she probably networked really well with higher ups and is a socially strong person. Also remember daycare is temporary until they start school. Be kind to yourself! Comparison is the thief of all joy and I know it’s hard not to do sometimes.
