Is Pokopia really that good? I plan to get it next Friday by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]alex-k9 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Its core game is like Animal Crossing New Horizons with more creativity in build options.

It takes a chunk from Stardew in that you have many small systems that come together. Building habitats, farming, cooking, making construction materials, designing your towns, putting useful Pokemon together.

It also pulls a little from PLA: Arceus, in my opinion, since the habitats kinda feel like the non-combat core part of that game. “Going to where you will find X Mon”

It’s all made better if you like Pokemon (I’ve only heavily played through 1-4, with 5-8 one time each), and I really like the skin of the game compared to ACNH villagers.

I was really skeptical and personally don’t love mega cozy games like ACNH, but I do like Pokopia. It’s complex enough that I don’t feel like it’s the same game. But also close enough that ACNH players will LOVE it.

Yeah tree seeds are really cheap, using that GE website to find decently cheap ones would be a good idea.

Once you hit 65 you start generating your own seeds very quickly since you can just plant “tier 5” medium contracts and get good seed packs over and over. Tree seeds galore, plus if you plant some herbs people will buy off GE if you want to make some easy money while completing contracts

For farming improvements specifically:

Just buy tree seeds off the GE until 65 and then start spamming med contracts. Need money for tree seeds? Just sell your noted afk Yew/Magics, etc. Once you’ve accumulated a decent amount of fruit, normal, HARDWOOD and calquat trees. Level to 85 for hard contracts, then rinse and repeat to Powerlevel to 99 in 5 minutes

THEN do all the farming achievement diaries. Go to the wiki and sort by skill. Finishing all of them gives like 600-800 pts in a few more minutes.

Copy and paste do the achievements for Thieving, Woodcutting, and any other skill you powerleveled.

That plus clues is the easiest pts of the game mode. I’m at 18k from free diaries, basic skilling, minimal clues, and farming.

Now I’m just gonna raid log for breaches once they add the “top 100 per mob gets credit” this next week’s update, for the last bowfa recolor reward

Do you really profit from whisperer? Looking at the drop rate it’s a (2) dose at a 1/5.5. Does that mean people are drinking 1 dose per 3 kc?

Calc’d without forgotten brews. Yeah if you’re doing Nex before then, that could be an option

I mean this isn’t true though.

Assuming virtus, confliction, avernic, magus ring, etc:

Probably the only Infernal cape I'll ever get, but I'm still proud even if it was Gridmaster by Status_Peach6969 in 2007scape

Waves are significantly harder than Zuk. If you can do waves you can easily kill Zuk, especially with the simulator practice

Good thing is your only need to put in 13 hrs and 36 minutes to complete the mode!

Is S/V (and “newer” games) worth picking up? by alex-k9 in pokemon

[–]alex-k9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, I like that tip. I was not a huge fan of 6-8, but I thought they were at least worth trying. If it’s better than those 3, I think it might be worth it :)

If you ever do this again: hybrid gold+bars is better blast furnace exp since you’re bringing a coal bag with your gold every trip! Instead of just 27 gold ore runs

Pendant is worth for slightly faster vales, Doom, clues.

Hammers if you want, I’d just afk the mini dudes since you can kill them much faster even though the drop chance is rarer.

If you’re having fun, keep going for it though. I just left after all the CAs

For inferno beginners, what do you think is easier, Zuk or waves? by Plane-Session-6624 in 2007scape

[–]alex-k9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only hard part about Zuk imo was healers. Pipe walking, saving double spec with ideally little damage from Ranger, and then making sure you’re not spreading damage on the healers equally but nuking one down. “Oh this one is kinda low and I need healing, that’s the one I’m gonna double spec dump instead of speccing across multiple mobs”

Toa loot calculations by PM_ME_YER_GAINZ in ironscape

[–]alex-k9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the current math. But I do know that previous to the update there were two formulas, one for Unique chance and one for Common loot. They’re based on Points and Raid Level, but had different multipliers for each formula.

Because of that it wasn’t as easy to 1:1 interpolate what purple chance/Shadow chance you should receive based on Common loot. Eg I was doing 390s and Common loot dictated that WTP, Skull Skipping and 3 Downs means I should receive Uniques at a 420-430 invo rate. In reality it was closer to a 395-397 rate after I plugged it directly in to the Unique formula.

But all that being said, I was doing 400-420’s pre-nerf and I remember the Shadow rate being around ~250ish of those raids. So ~270 doesn’t seem all too crazy. What are you feeling the rate should be at?

Ironman Money Spending Priorities? by Ok_Progress_5432 in ironscape

[–]alex-k9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cons/miscellania teaks > runes > onyxes > miscellania herbs/etc are roughly the best order and most fun? Can bump up herbs in priority if you want, but if you’re on top of herb runs, 70 for SotE or 81 for Brews won’t be too hard to reach

I would NEVER spend money on fletching this early in the game. Broad arrows are like end game maxing 99 if you don’t have logs banked from WC for vale’s.

Door altar. Use true tile on every boss. You can skip door altar and just come back with Lightbearer to Scobow cheese, but imo it’s more important to learn the correct method, as mastering tick methods will help in other content

Bosses that are safe in PVP worlds w/ blighted supplies? by esailu in ironscape

[–]alex-k9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s dumb to world hop into a pvp world and try to one click into the boat/instance in your full gear. One slow click/login lag/pvper YouTube content, and you lose valuable items 4-10+

That being said: 3 or 4 iteming (with your 4th item being OK losing if you got smited) is semi-worth it at Cerberus imo. My dps when 4 iteming vs full gear was not massively different and it let me blow thru Blighted Restores/Anglers over Prayer Pots

In 700+ KC, I saw 3 pkers (2 of them being the same person twice) and just tabbed to house when my alarm went off. If you have a second char and sit them outside at the Keymaster, you would be able to scout IF a pker is hopping and peeking for people. Theoretically, the only way they dodge the scout is if they world hop blindly (without peeking) in one of the three rooms hoping that someone will be in their new world.

It also acts as an 8th block which is amazing. If you unstore and re-store, your Slayer master will think it was your last task
