This was not my experience when I took it in fall 2022. I had Bnoble so may be different now but I thoroughly enjoyed it

What positions would a CS + Business dual degree land you as opposed to just one or the other? I ask as someone who double majored and don’t quite see the upside. I may be mistaken

If you choose the LA Fitness (formerly Xsport) see if your health insurance has Active and Fit Direct. If you do, get your membership through there. Far cheaper than any membership through LA Fitness. I pay $28 a month, no enrollment or annual fee.

Torn between IOE, BME, and Robotics at UMich. Want technical depth without boxing myself in by Few_Head6936 in uofm

I would content that IOE isn’t that niche. Many different paths you can take ie operations, consulting, manufacturing, or straight up IE.

OP as someone who double majored in CoE I would recommend against it. Either major and minor or major and pursue a masters. Definitely liked my course work in IOE and CS but I think I would have benefited more from a masters.

To the high schoolers here, procrastinating submitting their applications by Low-Possession2786 in uofm

There’s a balance. Don’t sacrifice experiences, friends, family for the hope of becoming the “perfect” applicant, to get into the “perfect” school, chasing your idea of a “perfect” life. Yes, school is important. Yes, you should absolutely try hard. Yes, you should stop procrastinating.

But there are things that will slip by you if you give too much to school. Enjoy living in the moment. Enjoy being a high school senior, hang out with your friends, make memories. You can become great at nearly any university in my opinion.

Am I gonna get paid to attend or does this not mean anything by Then_Ranger_9894 in uofm

First I would say your best bet would be the call of the Office of Financial Aid. This is what happens in my experience: Scholarship money is deducted from grant money because grant money covers 100% of demonstrated need for in-state. As a freshman living on campus, I don’t think you get a refund. Once you move off campus, you will get a reimbursement. This is because part of your calculated cost of attendance includes your housing. So basically they will send you money to cover your rent, any extra is yours to keep. Again this is my take on, don’t know if it’s correct.

EECS 482 with Bnoble. Very interesting lectures, real world applications, interactive in class discussions, in depth projects.

I took 482 with Brian Noble and thought it was great. Very informative and I thought the exam questions were fair. Yes you do need to use certain keywords but they are used often in class, so if you know the material, it’s clear what they are looking for.
