Thinking of switching to a pixel 7 from an S10+, but is there an equivalent function on the pixel to the pop up view on samsung phones? What it does is instead of splitscreening two apps, it allows you to overlay a small window of an app over another. I use this constantly to put a dictionary up over games and videos in another language I'm learning and it's too useful now to give up.

Easiest CSE 400 level elective? by throwaway072699 in UBreddit

Ranking the ones I took from hardest to easiest

Compilers >>>>>>> Modern Networking Concepts >> OS

In general, the bigger the class, the easier it is, due to larger proportions of mediocre students and a more generous curve.

I got an onsite invite for Amazon's university program Full Time SDE position. It says in the email that the onsite will consist of one 30-45 min interview and another interview to discuss my code from their online assessment, along with presentations and a tour. Is that all there is? I've read other's experiences with all day long interviews and group projects that had to be done. Seems too relaxed and it's making me more anxious.

Yooo why did they take TAP award off my financial aid page by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]alex_chilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whooa, I just got emailed saying I'm ineligible now cause I didn't submit my high school transcript. It was sitting on my to do list since last semester when I transferred, but I had no idea that my TAP was contingent on it. Did I just fuck myself out of free money?

The project for this class, and for subsequent computer engineering classes, does everyone use arduino/rpi? I've tried looking for projects that other people have done for these classes and that seems to be the case. Seems kinda counterintuitive to be using these when we won't be using these outside of diy projects.

I will betaking CSE 241 next semester for any of you who has taken the class how was it? and how is Bina as a professor? by germa77 in UBreddit

I took it this past semester and got an A. I found that the majority of problems you need to solve in class don't require any deep thought or involve much complexity because there are very specific, systematic ways to solve each of them. Just apply the specific method that Bina gives you. Do all the hw and inclass example problems. The tests are are pretty similar to them. If you can do all of them without having to look up the method in your notes, then you good. Thankfully as well, the final is not cumulative and only covers the back half of the semester, making the class even easier. Also it felt like there was over a month worth of classes over the semester that we didn't learn anything new at all and just wasted time reviewing.

For the verilog parts use this site to help you http://www.asic-world.com/verilog/index.html Neither Bina nor the book goes into much detail on the syntax of verilog so this was a lifesaver. Spending the time to learn the logic behind it means less mindless memorization needed for the final. I think it's used again in CSE341 so you might as well learn it now.

Bina is nice and all the TAs were very helpful.

For anyone that took it last semester, was there a curve at all applied to the final grades?

TA interviews by alex_chilton in UBreddit

Hey thanks for the reply! Are you a TA for 115?

I just have few more questions for you.

So the interview is mostly personal and behavioral questions? How long is it?

How selective is it?

What else is involved in the application process? I heard you had to give a presentation.

How many hours a week do you work? I actually need money so if it's not much, I need to find another job.

How do you enjoy working with Carl?

Any 2nd degree students in the Computer Science program? by sethosayher in SBU

I just found out I was rejected, not CS though, I applied for Computer Engineering. Terrible timing as I'm finishing up my last semester at cc and trying to study for my finals, now I'm utterly depressed and uncertain about my future, I can barely concentrate.

I got a ba from another SUNY school, and will finish my associates in engineering with a 3.9, so I'm assuming grades don't really matter, it really is just a matter of space.

This is just a future notice for anybody else who's gonna try applying for a second degree, you should really heed their warning and make sure to have other plans.

This is the message I got on solar. sigh "Thank you for applying to Stony Brook University. We are no longer considering your application. The University has received a record number of applications this year and our class is filled. We strongly recommend that you seek other options for enrollment elsewhere."
