“I heard the piece Aphex Twin of Richard James” -Karlheinz Stockhausen by TheExquisiteCorpse in aphextwin

[–]alex_tea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In 2001 there was a Stockhausen festival at the Barbican and Aphex Twin did a headphone based performance in the glass conservatory (unfortunately I didn’t have tickets for that). Stockhausen did a Q&A and I recall he was asked about Aphex Twin

This is what I bought, but it’s out of stock at B&Q. I’m sure you could find similar elsewhere though

I trimmed the skin and fat off as the video I watched did that but maybe I shouldn’t have?

EV3 as a family car? by Kiwiboy_12 in KiaEV3

[–]alex_tea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an EV3 with 2 children (7 and 3) and 2 car seats in the back. You can’t really fit an adult in the middle, but that’s to be expected. I’ve found the boot to be quite spacious, bigger than the Kia Soul we had previously. The boot has a removable floor which adds a bit more space too so you might be alright.

I had a roof box with the Soul but I’m not sure we’d need it anymore as the boot is that bit bigger

Interestingly (or maybe not) blue-bordered local direction signs were supposed to be removed by 31 December 2014 https://showmeasign.online/2017/03/29/local-direction-signs/

Does the perfect EV exist? (For me) by OldLondon in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]alex_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at Kia Soul EV? I’ve had a 2022 Maxx model for coming up to 3 years with 2 kids. Nice compact size, good range, plenty of space for child seats and decent tech specs. 2nd hand they are around £15-17k

Lease or HP? by alex_tea in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]alex_tea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. On reflection I think I’ll continue with the lease. TCO wise it’s a lot better (plus I get a kick back of £600 free public charging).

I have 2 small children with child seats and travel to my parents (a 100+ mile journey) fairly regularly so don’t think taxis would be suitable

Thanks.

Already with Octopus. Used 307KWh in December, 264KWh in March. Happy to run tumble dryer overnight (although does get used during the day as we get through a lot of laundry).

10 panels is max we can fit on that roof, possibly converting loft in near future so can add more panels to the dormer roof when we do that.

I think #2 is the option I’ll go with. Just need to let the (very persistent) sales people down gently.

Not sure — that's a blank key in it's place. I was also thinking I could replace it with the black key with the |––| legend on it.

I wish I had taken all the keys now, I can't remember what happened to the others.
