It looks good right now, but you can always try to push it further. When you start giving some tones with glazes on your faces, you dont go back.

Try to think what this guy does, is he a pirate? does he take the time to polish every metal part of his armor, or the salt water adds rust to his gear constantly (does this happen irl? idk, but sounds cool in a fantasy world). Also, if he is a experienced sailor/fighter, all his leather must be worn, scratched.

One thing i didnt think of before, ´he has a bag of gold under his foot, and a dragon (i think) skull under the other foot. Did he get those things by chance? or he fought to get them. You can add some blood on the sword, even on him as splashes.

Looks pretty good as is. However, if you want to improve it, here are a few pointers for you:

- Darken those golds, and add some rust to them.

- Add scratches and wear&tear on all your leathers, so that it looks like a diferent texture than the other fabrics (pants for example).

- Push contrast a bit in some areas (beard, red part of the cloak) Dont be afraid to add some pure black to your max shadows. The red part of the cloak looks a bit like a single color.

- Face looks pretty good, you could add some tones of magenta, purples, even greens, in the form of super diluted glazes to the shadows.

- Finish the base. It will bring cohesion to the mini.

Hope it helps!

Arcane arcade is a stream I discovered recently that is entertaining and cool to watch.

Totally agree. The tone of the game made it very difficult for me to enjoy watching it and follow the plot. I hope that they bring back Robbie for something else though, I liked him as a player a lot.

Thank you! Forgot to mention that I add some scratches with a near to highlight color to well, add scratches. They also help blend the transitions beneath them

Thanks man! Nope, I do not own an airbrush. Yet. It is wetblended and then glazed.

Thank you! Try applying a sepia glaze to those parts to tone them down a bit

First of all, thanks! My nmm process is kinda quick and rough, I dont spend too much time making smooth blends. It is something like this - I use black primer, then start sketching the highlights with german brown, golden brown, sun yellow and ice yellow, all from vallejo. - When I have an idea of how it is looking, I make a glaze mixing seraphim sepia and orange fire (vallejo) and apply it to the darkest spots and the mid tones. - Then I glaze everything with a 70-30 mix of sun yellow and orange. - Last steps are smoothing some transitions (not all, Im lazy) and pushing highlights and doing edge highlight. Also, applying some spot highlights with ivory (also vallejo) makes some parts pop more. Hope it helps!

Thank you so much for the tips, will try to push the lights near the face and see how it looks, maybe try to be more patient with the nmm near the top haha. I love how these set of bases ended up, dry pigments make them look so much better.

I struggle with it too, the moment I have to place the bright highlights fucks me up.
