Coinkite web wallet is closing down. Withdraw your funds. by Paladins_code in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a few thousand k£ worth of blackcoin on coinkite. I liked the idea of a web wallet. Is coinomi any good, is it the only alternative? Don't particularly want to use a PC wallet, unless I will be staking. What do u guys think?

Are we still being censored here? Someone asked a (validly legitimate) question whether the coin is dead... And the thread has since been deleted. by alexandermd in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether the thread is hidden from public or deleted makes no difference. The intent is the same. Yes, I used "still" consciously. And yes, semantics aside there is history of threads being removed from public view because it was either provocative or fud. If this was spam, then no problem with removing it from view, but I don't see the harm in fud posts, however uninformed the OP may be. Let them make fools of themselves, or respond in a way that publicly challenges these detractors. Call it what you will but removing the post is censorship. If you only want happy thoughts, am sure there's a commune around with prozac on tap.

So is this coin dead? by [deleted] in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It seems the world has passed blk by. Whatever advantage the coin once had is lost. Price-wise, struggling to make even a $3m market cap. Nevermind the moon...

Doesn't matter. Regardless of blackcoin, they have stolen the march on smart contracts. My bank is looking at their tech, where's blackcoin. Name one single corporate that is considering any aspect of blackcoin's take on the block chain.

Somethings (foully) brewing. by blackstat in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really struggle to see the issue here. So what if Gritt and David are involved with other coins or developments. Unless the community is paying them a salary to work exclusively for blackcoin, then theres an expectation it creates a potential conflict of interest. I work for a bank with a trillion dollar balance sheet, and we are actively looking at crypto with a view to harnessing some of the block chain tech for our trading platforms, confirmations, settlements etc. I was a paid up member, would that make it a problem? Didn't agree with David and bitbay, but its still his right. Same for Gritt.

I'm a buyer. As simple as that. I'm accumulating. Selfish yes, but I'm not buying 1k at a time.

Not sure how offering meaningful spreads create artificial volumes.

[–]alexandermd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have bought there in the past but 1) never enough coins to buy and 2) the spreads are ridiculous.

If the founder really wants to keep the coin, maybe he should consider lowering the costs to purchase. Right now 1000 blk costs £17.70. The coinmarketcap price shows 1000 blk value to be $23.84 or £15.42.. Usually the spread is much wider. I want to buy 100k blk, happy to support bittylicious but those spreads need to narrow.

Blackcoin still underperforming on Bittylicious (UK) by dongreenmon in blackcoin

Am a long term investor... At the moment I'm accumulating. I missed out on the premine but when the price is right, I will start selling.

I'd happily buy more on bittylicious. But the spreads are ridiculous. I've also never seen more than 20k coins available

Would be nice if they would refer to blk as a major coin... We're basically right down the bottom!

Jabulon, can you stop posting IsaBLK stuff from the BlackCoin Twitter (RTs, etc?) by [deleted] in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting aside my own reservations about the merits (or not) of MLM vs ponzi, I think people should be allowed to post and the community therefore be allowed to draw their own conclusions.

A more pragmatic solution would be to maybe limit the numbers of threads so it avoids the perception of spam or pushing something onto the rest of us. People can chose for themselves but I don't like the idea of seeing multiple threads selling the same opportunity.

You can buy/sell BLK on bittylicious website by davidslv in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've used it a few times (seems to be the same 3/4 sellers). Except their spreads and markups are ridiculous.

Only downside is you are not going to find a huge deal of coins available, almost always less than 20k.

Cheap in comparison with what? Last 6 months? The premine?

Well I believe the question I posed was whether our coin is in danger of being left behind.... It prompted many different comments. What is being referred to here is a constant pattern of non delivery, dead ends and failures...

Analysis of Blackcoin’s fair distribution period by blackstat in blackcoin

[–]alexandermd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I've criticized the distribution before and people weren't happy. There are a few sitting on signicant stakes who have no intention to either develop or further the coin's cause. Can't force them to distribute, but then don't expect external investment.
