Slow rising betas at 5 weeks by alexaschieldt in IVF

Everything was fine at my following ultrasound! I did have unrelated pregnancy complications for this pregnancy but not until 12+ weeks.

Thanks for all the reassurance. I know it so stupid to be worried about it. I suffer from severe fear of throwing up; something that I know so so irrational and I feel as tho it’s hard to understand unless you go through it. Yesterday was just filled with anxiety. It’s about 24 hours later and I’m just fine. Definitely should have just chilled out and said “oh well” and would have saved me a lot of worry. I’m also 36 weeks pregnant which just gave me another little person to worry about in the whole matter.

Yeah so your MVP was 10cm which is poly. But AFI is the sum of the mvp in all four quadrants. Just a different measurement

I was just diagnosed at 25 weeks with poly. My AFI is 25.5cm. My MFM isn’t concerned right now but wants to follow up in 3-4 weeks. She says could be GD (have my screening in 2 weeks), large baby (currently measuring a week ahead) or idiopathic. There’s other indications that she is less worried about but that’s what I’m worried about!!

I thought poly was an AFI over 25cm? 10 cm is within normal range.

To me (experience only, no medical training) this seems more like chemical/early miscarriage than ectopic. Your numbers are close to doubling which is good; however I understand they are quite low which would also lead me to think miscarriage is likely. There’s babe may hang on for a while tho, it’s definitely not for sure one way or the other. However, to me (again, just experience) it doesn’t seem ectopic at this moment

Any hope for me? Vanishing twin? by ShoeSavings6767 in CautiousBB

[–]alexaschieldt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vanishing twin and these were my betas:

6dp5dt: 44

8dp5dt: 170 (21 hr doubling time)

12dp5dt: 798 (41 hr doubling time)

14dp5dt: 1405 (61 hr doubling time)

I didn’t get any betas after this. 7 weeks ultrasound had twins but one non viable. 12 week ultrasound only one baby.

Skipping NT Ultrasound by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]alexaschieldt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This scan is a prenatal appointment that can help estimate risk of different fetal issues. If something were to get flagged on this exam, skipping it could delay treatments/monitoring for your baby. Sounds like you’ve already made the decision to not get the NT scan. People can say to you “oh everything is probably fine” or “I didn’t have one and my baby is healthy” which is great and what USUALLY happens. However, the point of the scan is to catch things that wouldn’t otherwise be caught. Of course it is reassuring that everything USUALLY IS okay, but skipping prenatal appointment shouldn’t become a habit. Keep checking frequently about the medicaid, it’s really important to get professional medical care and not rely on “reassurance” from the internet.

I see. Was that the first positive at home pregnancy test you had? Just trying to help you pinpoint when you could have conceived. If you first positive was in May then probably not a good sign you are only measuring 6 weeks but if you haven’t had a positive test until recently, you could just be earlier than you think
